“HOME AWY HOME”

Megha home stay at jangpura in new delhi is an ideal stay while in new delhi.the comfort of distance from railway station, the luxary of cab pick up and drop from farthest of the arrival or departure points at new delhi, the pamper of the owner with the delicious hot dishes and the extravaganza of house keeping does attract anyone to repeat his or her visit frequently.
Aman the owner is so large hearted that aman ki asha is coined rightly with its right spirit.

Room Tip: South facing rooms could be preferred.

I stayed here for 2 nights as It was a last minute stop in Delhi. It was a lovely home feeling, Aman made me feel welcome and at home since I was a single traveller. The room was nice and clean I had no complaints. The food was very tasty. Aman also sorted my transport out after it got cancelled. Thank you for a fantastic stay and I look forward to retuning.

Pleasant stay, very homely - home-cooked meals, a personal touch. A bit wanting on the upkeep though. Rooms had dust, toilet door could not be closed shut; some electrical fittings were loose.
The home-feel tended to mollify the shoddiness. Upmarket location (today, though the colony was created as a middle-class settlement); very close to most of Delhi's happening spots. Personal-owned cars for pick-up and drop. Recommended as a budget stay.

Stayed here last week for two nights and we were quite satisfied on the whole.

The 'home stay' is located in a friendly, fairly quiet neighborhood, with a small park just across the street. We had two rooms (2 older couples traveling together) on the ground floor, and they were quite noisy. After long days of sightseeing we needed our sleep, but the second night I had to ask that the TV right outside the rooms in a little sitting area be turned down/off and that the kitchen door be closed, as the staff were still clattering about at 11 o'clock. I'd suggest taking a room NOT on the ground floor. We also arranged two full days (8 hours) with a car for sightseeing in Delhi. The driver had quite a bit of free time while we were actually at the sites, but we found that the rental price was very high. 3500 rupees per day! If we'd been better organized we would have got a vehicle elsewhere. Airport drop off was 1000 for each couple. Also not cheap.

On the other hand, we were very happy with the fact that we could keep our rooms until the evening and that we didn't have to check out in the morning. Our flights were in the wee hours of the morni g and it was wonderful that we could go back to our rooms after our sightseeing, take showers and pack in the air conditioning before we left for the airport. Aman, the owner, is a very affable sort of fellow. His family - wife, daughters (a teenager and a nine-year-old) and elderly mother - all live on the premises, which us quite nice. I think that if you stay longer, you probably end up with more interaction with them, which I imagine would be very nice.

One last thing: there were quite a lot of mosquitos in the rooms. You need to spray!

Megha home stay made a fantastic start for our 23 days trip throughout India.

We were a group of 14 young travelers, traveling in India during March-Apr 2012. Prior to our trip, we started looking for Home Stays in Delhi where we could enjoy a sense of Indian home and feel at home. Of all the Home Stays we found in Delhi, Megha was the only who facilitated our stay with our limited budget and offered us the luxury of a nice stay with a very reasonable price. Upon our arrival in Delhi, we were impressed by Aman’s generous attitude and hospitality in fulfilling our each and every query, from getting SIM Cards for us, sending his drivers to transfer our payments for other hotels in other cities, exchanging money and providing assistance in organizing our 20-day trip to North India and Rajasthan.

Megha homestay is a family in one of the best localities of New Delhi, close to sight seeing areas such as Humayun Tomb and Nizamuddin Dargah and just few minutes distance from Lajpath Nagar where you may end up shopping great deal of stuffs. If you wish to hire cabs Aman has the best drivers to offer you and if you wish to commute via Metro, you may simply walk for 10 min to reach the closest underground station. It is not just a guest house or hotel, but an Indian home in a beautiful, serene and green locality. If you want to experience the real Indian warmth and compassion, this is where to go.

Thanks is a small word to express our appreciation for the genuine hospitality of Aman, his lovely Family, and the employees there. I would never hesitate to say, wasn’t it for Aman’s thoughtfulness and caring recommendations, our trip wouldn’t have been the same.

Thank you Aman, Sonia, Megha, Sandeep, Ram Singh and Vikram and the other nice people in Megha Home Stay who made our stay more than memorable! Though Delhi has great variety of accommodation to stay, Megha Home Stay shall remain our first choice if we ever get the chance of revisiting Delhi and we would certainly recommend it to all our friends.
