Red Frog Beach itself is one of the most beautiful places I've been. The sand is like silk and the views are breathtaking. Where can you go in late July or August and have a beach to yourself? The rooms were very comfortable and we stayed right on the beach. There is an outdoor shower and private pool for each 4-plex.
The experience that was most special to me was meeting and getting to know the local people that work in the resort. Yuri and Jessica who are waitresses at the Overlook Restaurant, made every meal special and even surprised us with an Anniversary night where they decorated our table with flowers. Wilfredo and Leo were the BEST island hosts. They are highly recommended if you are ziplining or taking the island hike tour. Overall, it was a great experience if your desire is to get away and even connect with genuinely beautiful people.

Room Tip: It may be difficult to purchase groceries for the condos with kitchens. Just be prepared to buy supplies prior to getting to the isalnd.

We stayed in one of the jungle bungalows.

Getting there was an adventure-taxi from big airport for 45 mins to the small airport, tiny plane to Bocas, van to the dock, boat to the resort and a converted dump truck to our bungalow.

Our bungalow was really nice and comfortable. It was just 2 of us, so we didn’t use the loft spaces. We loved being able to sit on the patio and see capuchin monkeys in the morning. The pool had a beautiful view of the ocean. The grounds are beautiful- a mix of manicured landscaping and natural jungle.

We tried not renting a golf cart and quickly realized it was a necessity. Otherwise you have to hike up and down dark, steep gravel roads to go anywhere, sometimes in pouring rain. We negotiated the daily cost down 50%, so it doesn’t hurt to ask. If you get a golf cart, you can take the road until it dead ends and then hike further to some great shore snorkeling sites.

The restaurant was just ok. The beach club wasn’t open yet. There are several great restaurants further down the beach. There’s an unmarked road to reach them by golf cart. We arranged a bat cave tour through the resort and it was amazing. Highly recommend doing that. Otherwise we booked trips in advance.

Water taxis are frequent and easy to navigate. Try to sit near the back! If you get on one with locals, they’re going to get service first. Just relax and enjoy getting to see how the locals live.

All in all, it was a great trip and we cannot wait to go back.

Great little spot. Beautiful beaches. It is really nice, however, there is literally nothing to do but hang out at the beach. Literally the only thing. The staff is very incompetent when asking for help. I was given so much conflicting information that I nearly left.

A cool place to stay with upscale villa accommodations in the rain forest jungle. I actually lived there for about nine months. Water, wildlife and wandering. Located on Isla Bastimentos within the Bocas Del Toro Archipelago in Panama. It's adventurous travel with a very comfortable place to bed down. Bocas Del Toro is a wonderful "free life" kind of place, almost like the eastern Caribbean was thirty years ago. Just go and enjoy.

We spent an extremely pleasant week here. Our villa was spacious and stunning with an incredible view. We loved the beach and clubhouse pool. The staff was fantastic, so kind and welcoming. We didn't hire a golf cart preferring to walk most of the time. When we were tired we made use of the funny little bus that was always available to take us around if needed.
