It is a 3 minute Taxi ride from airport which will cost you $2 per person. If you have luggage take a taxi, if you do not have much to carry you can walk from airport to hotel.

Each room has Kitchen, coffee maker, utensils, plates, glasses etc. bed is very comfortable, hot water comes on fast, WiFi works well, and Ac works well. Plenty of outlets to plug in electronics. Room towels were large and substantial. Nice assortment of cable channels, but no hdmi connections on back of flat screen tv so you will not be able to use Roku, Apple TV, etc.

The hotel staff is great. They are really happy to see you. Property is managed by Myra, who is a fantastic host. She loves her staff and they love her. She is also happy to see you!

There is a supermarket right around the corner with fair prices. Pick up some water (I don’t suggest you drink tap water), snacks, coffee, etc. the market we visited had French made chocolate cookies and pure maple syrup from Canada at prices less than U.S. You can pick up Papaya for Breakfast and anything else you need- eggs, cheese, fruit, etc.

If you decide to go to beach or swimming hotel will provide you nice beach towels.

We arranged two- one day tours by boat with Myra and they were great. Ask her to arrange them for you (very fair prices). Depending on where you go and for how long Pack a lunch and bring water or your favorite beverage on the boat. If you are doing an all day private tour with Bobby, he will provide you snorkel gear (does not have flippers but masks and snorkel), bring your own lunch and beverages as well as towels.

If you want to tour around Bocas by land and go to Draggo Beach. You can rent an Atv next to Tropical Suites from “Surprise”. He will give you a great deal on an Atv for 24 hours that will cost you less than you would pay his competition for 4 hours. Tell him Wicho and Big Daddy G sent you.

When you go to Draggo Beach stop and see the La Gruta cave on the way ($1 dollar admission). It has religious significance, bats and unique formations. Definitely worth a dollar!

Once you reach Draggo Beach look for Fernandez who will take you to the famous Bird Island and also drop you off and pick you up from some great beaches on the way back.

I will review the two good restaurants we ate at in Bocas town in separate reviews, but number 1 is Bocart and number 2 is Buena Vista. (Pirates was closed for remodeling).

If you want to visit a Vintage town, with 82 degree ocean water, fair prices, dolphins, flying fish, sloths, Starfish, and beaches were you can still snorkel 10 feet from the shore and see a lot of fish, a place where the locals still like tourists and are not just nice to you to get your money, then you will enjoy Bocas del Toro.

Rumor has it they are also building a Viceroy Resort Hotel in Bocas del Toro. Let’s hope this does not change the distinct flavor of Bocas into another tourist trap to grab your hard earned money. Then you might as well go to Hawaii. (Hawaii is a very nice place with some very nice people, but very commercial.

Room Tip: We liked the city view rooms over the ocean view. Especially sitting on the balcony watching people walk by.

Hotel is really nice. On the water and one of the nicest hotels on the island. Rooms are big and clean with massive balconies. We got rooms next door to each other which was great coz often you are separated even though your on the same booking. Staff were really helpful and sorted our tours and cabs and anything else we needed!

Location wise, you cannot beat this place. Restaurants, bars , shops and supermarkets are all nearby.

If you book a tour, you will be picked up by water taxi on the premises which is really convenient!

The room has everything you need - a mini kitchen with a mini fridge, a good bathroom, a safe, great wifi etc. They were really clean.

We arrived before check in but the staff took care of our bags and when we returned they had been taken to our room.

The staff are really helpful.

The views from your waterfront balcony are amazing. Sitting on your balcony with a drink over the water is really nice.

This is not the fault of the hotel at all, but we did suffer through a night of really inconsiderate neighbours who had a loud party in their room until 5am. (At times they would be running and screaming through the hallways). Security did attend and asked them to turn the noise down but this was short lived unfortunately. They were a large group scattered throughout the hotel from what I could work out - we were very unlucky they chose the room next door to us to party in!

If other guests are normal - then this a great place to stay!

(The air conditioners on the deck are really loud too)!

Room Tip: Water front!

We stayed here after a volunteer week. Easily one of the nicest properties in town. Rooms were lovely. Beautiful water views. Certainly a little more expensive than other rooms in town but well worth it for the better quality.

Room was very comfortable, and very clean. It has everything you may need for an amazing holiday. Spacious kitchen, nice and comfortable bed, spacious bathroom, nice couch and an amazing terrace with breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea. During our stay the personnel were very attentive and helpful. Facilities are very well maintained. Location is very convenient, for bar hoping at night, shopping for essentials, food tasting and for beach/island trips during the day since the hotel has its own dock on which the local boat drivers you may hire can pick/drop you right on the hotel.

Room Tip: I highly recommend you pick a room with ocean view, the best for a full experience.
