First let me say that Rosie is a very kind and wonderful person but I feel others need to know what they are really getting into if they are renting Jardine Vista Del Mar. Rosie's service is great and she even let us in at 11 am when Air Panama changed our flight. The area is okay and very safe, the beach is not good. If you are expecting to swim here please be aware the water is black and does not smell good. Walk 15 - 20 minutes up the road for a more swimable beach or go to Skully's. Neighbors dogs bark at all hours which starts the roosters crowing so difficult to get a good nights sleep. We rented the Superior Garden View Unit #1 for 10 nights & condition of unit was not as advertised. No mention was made of a switch when we checked in so we can only assume that this unit was in fact the superior unit. I would suggest some updated pictures of the furniture etc so people understand what they are getting. Rattan patio furniture was busted with no cushions, there were plastic chairs to use on the very small patio. Foam couch/sofa bed is very low and uncomfortable. Dining room chairs do not match , 2 wooden and 2 light metal. Unit is very clean which is good. Pool itself is very clean but could use some clean up of the dead fall etc around it to make it more inviting. I would not return to these condos given our experience this time.

This was our second stay and we ended up staying over 5 months while we relocated to Bocas. The condo was spacious, comfortable, well equipped, spotlessly clean and totally secure, without the feeling of being locked down.
The view of the bay (and mainland) are mesmerizing. We loved the sound of the surf at night. The breeze is good, but the AC is wonderful on those few afternoons and nights when it is hot and still. And the pool is so nice. It is fairly quiet, yet an easy walk to town. Since it is close to the gas station, taxis are frequent - sixty cents to town.
When the under the sink water heater broke and flooded the living areas in the middle of the night, we were given immediate access to another condo and it was fixed and everything cleaned in a few hours!
What makes this place special is Muhammed and Rosie! They really care about their guests and go to great lengths to ensure everyone has a pleasant stay. Muhammed is especially knowledgeable about the area and the services and tours available and will arrange the best deals for you. They are truly special hosts!

I've hesitated before writing this review, I don't like to write bad reviews but this lodging partially ruined our vacations. We rented this place because of the reviews on TA, but I consider we've been wrongly advied.

This was our 5th « AirBnB » that we rent since 3 years, we've always had very pleasant experiences until this one. We stay there 10 day, with our 2years old.

We met Muhammed when we arrived, his office is in one of the building separated from the street by a construciton coumpond, we had to accustomize to his cultural ways of welcoming people. He wanted me to sit and talk while my girlfriend and our 2 years old were standing outside, while waiting for our room to be cleaned.

We would have appreciated to have a few clear recommendations (map of grocery, fruit stands, water taxi spots, etc) when we arrive but it was not possible. Those things are easy to find once used to the town.

Everything advised was there (pool, AC, kitchen, sea view) but everything in very bad condition. The kitchen is just a basic one with a few damaged pots and pans, don't plan to make dinner there, you don't have the tools you'll need. Breakfast and sandwiches are possible. Most of the handles of the cabinets are broken or missing. They don’t ask for any safety deposit because there is nothing not broken or missing!

The mattresses were bad and the sheets super thin. They provided beach towels but they are just « used to be » bath towels in very bad condition.

The couches are so dirty and old that you don't want to sit on them.
We ended up with hundreds of mosquito bites, some from the beach and we had some new ones in the morning after 2 days of rain (no beach) we presume from our bed.

We stayed in 2 apartments (the first room we had wasn't available for our whole stay) The other room was in the same condition as the first one. Changing room hasn’t been an easy process; the cultural clash ended up at Rozy, (Muhammed’ s girlfriend/assistant) yelling at us! I just wanted to know at what time to proceed to the room change.

The complex is strangely build, 3 or 4 building with 5 to 8 apartment each, on different lots touching each other but not like « one big lot ». The pool is on the property, we had to cross a fence, a “home made” (welded) fence in very bad condition, that only Rozy locks all the time to block the neighbors from crossing their lot. The pool pump is very noisy.

The place is pretty quiet, there are a few roosters in the surroundings and the construction company that starts at around 6h30AM. One night Rozy held a party at her apartment with loud music until 2AM, without telling us or apologizes. When we left, they never said « bye ».

It might be up to Panameans standards but not up to north american standards. At this price I expected more than that (Furniture in better condition and a functional kitchen). We paid the same price for our room in Panama city, no kitchen, super comfy and clean beds, a fancy rooftop pool and breakfast included! It was so good to sleep there!

If you'll stay there anyway, I recommend the Sea view (higher rooms) with a hammock. I haven't stayed there but it looks better... But I recommend staying somewhere else.

Room Tip: Upper floor rooms for a sea view and less noise, in the buildings closer to the gas station.

We made plans to stay here after reading the reviews online. Everyone spoke highly of the owner, Muhammed, who went out of his way to make our stay as comfortable as possible.
He was a very nice man who offered to make dinner for us and asked us up for cocktails.
The condo was just as advertised, a one bedroom one bath condo with a living room area with cable tv and wifi, a full kitchen with all the necessary items and a dining room table.
Two air conditioners kept the entire place very comfortable after a long day in the sun and a small patio and clothes line came in handy. There was even a washer and dryer available for a nominal fee which worked perfectly. Great water pressure and no lack of hot water.
Will certainly come back.
Very easy to find as it is near la bomba, the only gas station on the island. $.60 per person taxi ride to Bocas Town.
Great place and great time.
Thank you Muhammed for all of the recommendations and assistance.
