Us Brits love to enjoy the roadside chicken and rice, but sometimes we need to be reminded of western food and drink too. The Royal offers decent quality cocktails - my margarita was served quickly and tasted very good. We were a party of 10 and the service was excellent. The fried fish starter was recommended - if you have that , don't order the main Fish and chips- it's basically the same but with fries. The sizzling pork was. Dry good too, as was the veggie lasagne. It's a shame the piano was just a prop and not a working instrument. A nice change for us all.

Kandy doesn't have a lot of bars worthy of mention - especially if you're not a fan of the national beer, Lion, but this place was a very welcome find. It has a lovely old colonial interior, excellent service and a decently stocked bar. There's also good food on offer, which although a little more expensive than some other places, is hard to resist once you're settle in.

This place is lovely for some 'western' drinks in the city. It has cute shutters, lovely decor. The manager was helpful when we had a problem with booking accommodation, he translated for us. Definitely recommend. We had lovely wine, you can get a bottle for about £20.

Absolutely loved this place. At night it is perfectly lit and has an amazing ambiance.
On the terrace with a cold Beer watching the world go buy. Excellent service, excellent food and a lot of history. Must visit! Reasonably priced. Wish we could have visited when the piano was in use in the main dining area.
