Owner very welcoming and oblidging. Room felt safe & secure behind the main part of the house. Has international wall plug and free wi fi that operates well from your bedroom. Home made meals are made from organic produce. Make sure you try her home made jam with morning breakfast.
Lovely family. We would definately recommend for the price paid

Room Tip: Book early, we were unable to extend our stay, as her limited amount of rooms were full

This lovely, friendly and family-run guest house is a fantastic base from which to explore Kandy. The location is great, only a short walk from the lake and town centre and easily reached from the station by tuk tuk.
The house itself is beautifully decorated, and gives a facinating insight into the history of the family who have lived in it for generations. Kumari herself is an incredibly welcoming host; she will go out of her way to ensure that you enjoy your stay, and will cook up a delicious Sri Lankan meal served with a smile every evening. Her food was comfortably better than anything we ate in Kandy town.
The rooms are basic but clean, and there is free wi-fi access within the house.
I would highly recommend staying here for an authentic Sri Lankan experience.

We stayed for 3 nights in this lovely guesthouse. You will be excellently looked after and advised by the wonderful Kumari. The rooms are clean and simple. The breakfast is tasty and Kumari's dinners are certainly worth trying for good Sri Lankan food. You will be warmly welcomed here as it is very laid back and relaxed. Excellent value.

Its location is perfect for exploring Kandy on foot and with Kumari's help we organised trips to the Elephant Orphanage and Lion's Rock at Sigirya. Both were excellent (get to the Orphanage early for a less touristy experience). We the took a local bus to the Botanical gardens which are worth a visit. The guest house helped to make our stay in Kandy very memorable.

You'd never know it to look at but behind the White exterior there is a lovely family run guesthouse hiding. The owner is amazingly helpful, telling you the best sights, when to go and how to get there. Great home cooked Sri lankan food. Rooms are basic but clean and nice. There is an early wake up call by a train but only the one and it really isn't a problem. Would definitely go back

We recently stayed with Kumari. She was very helpful and friendly and her place was perfect for visiting Kandy and surroundings. So much so that we cancelled our stay in a guesthouse in the hills over Kandy and extended our stay with her. You really can reach everything in Kandy on foot from her place.
Don't be put off by the house front which is uninspiring and on a loud main road! The house unfolds Tardis-like behind the front and seems to swallow up most of the street noise. Upstairs there is a great area to sit outside and chat with fellow visitors.
The food was also authentic and delicious and well worth trying, especially as Kandy itself is rather lacking in decent eateries!
All in all, basic but very good homely accommodation at a very fair price.

Room Tip: Rooms upstairs are better and have less "traffic" from other visitors
