Amazing hotel with friendly & helpful staff. Beautiful rooms & great view. We loved everything there even the food was yummy. We enjoyed the Yoga sessions with the yoga master they provided. Also, enjoyed the massage on the spa

We stayed one night here on our tour of Sri Lanka in the Queens Suite, which is a beautiful large suite with balcony, lounge and a huge four poster bed (contrary to an earlier review it’s nowhere near the pool). The bathroom also has a porthole with a beautiful view over the hills.

It’s a high quality establishment and the dining terrace has views to die for particularly at breakfast as the mist clears the mountains. There’s also an infinity pool overlooking the mountains; a great place to chill.

Service is a little too attentive but is also super friendly as it was everywhere in this country. Food portions are on the large size but it’s supremely well cooked and served with panache.

The hotel is situated above Kandy and takes some finding but offers a calm oasis from the city’s hustle and bustle.

Probably the best stay you can have in the area.

My nephew and I recently spent 3 nights at the King's Pavilion and our stay could not have been more perfect. The rooms and the hotel itself are spotless. The grounds are lovely. But the service is what made our stay so special. The staff was helpful and always available without ever being over bearing. The food delicious and the chef made a point to help us with our choices and explain the ingredients and cooking methods. I want to go back and learn more! My spa treatment was fabulous as well. I already miss the scent of lemongrass each evening.

Only place we stayed in SL where service and food was less than great. Nasi Goreng with chicken & prawns was disgusting. It was very clearly refried leftovers as it also contained calamari & sausage - which, funnily enough, also featured in their house fried rice. Chicken curry was full of bones. During our first dinner we felt bullied into committing to book for dinner and decide what we would eat on second night there and then. Stayed for two nights - junior suite down steps beside pool: room was attractively done but no storage at all for clothes apart from a tiny cupboard. Queen's suite was enormous and beautiful but extra bed was in bedroom rather than in huge sitting room, which would have been better.
