Perched up on the hill above Kandy town this hotel has some pretty views but that’s about it. Arrival drink was nice. This place is dated and seemed to be frequented by locals. Because of the odd positioning of the lift which doesn’t go to every floor, we had to tackle steep stairs whilst lugging our luggage. Room was big, beds comfortable, bathroom small and smelt like urine. The WiFi was awful (with 2 teenagers this was a catastrophe!) Tv was good had a movie channel. Warnings about monkeys pinching things were on the balcony doors but we didn’t see any. Buffet breakfast was okay, recommend trying the curd and trickle, silky soft like creme brûlée. We had to check out at 4am they suggested a wake up call....needless to say thank goodness we set our alarms, as it didn’t happen. They did make us breakfast boxes for the train journey we were going on & they were great. If you don’t want to take tuk tuks up & down the hill for everything, stay in town.
