Stayed here for the first 2 nights of our vacation in Sri Lanka. Pretty convenient location to Sigiriya (about 15 mins drive) and is about 1 - 1.5 hours drive to Polonnaruwa. The room was huge though basic, nothing much to shout about in my opinion. I liked that the hotel was quiet as it was tucked away from the main road. Breakfast was decent - there was a mix of both American-style breakfast food and local curries. We didn't try the dinner buffet at the resort, would recommend driving to the nearby town for cheap and delicious local food instead.

This hotel was our favourite hotel during our stay. We toured Sri lanka for 9 days and stayed in 5 different 3 star hotels. Our room was basic but clean yes there are mosquitoes but the hotel is set in a garden and you will have to fight mosquitoes pretty much anywhere you go in Si Lanka anyway.
, We enjoyed taking our meals with a view onto the luscious gardens (the restaurant is 'open') the food was varied with a choice of continental and asian food.
Staff were very friendly, all in all it is a great base for visiting Sigirya (15 min drive) and the Ancient cities

we spent 2 nights at this hotel and were given a second floor room. sad to say it was not the best becos the second floor's wooden structure attracted many pigeons. its was abit dirty with the bird dropping. At night, there were several lizards roaming in the room. there were also mosquitoes and without a net in the room, we were bitten during the night.

room was big and bathroom was basic. they serve decent lunch and at night, you have a choice of buffet at 1100rupees. it was slightly overpriced. but there were not much choice for food in this town. the staff was quite friendly.

overall, it was not good value for the price we paid ($100usd a night).

The hotel was not bad for the price we paid. It was clean and quite away from the main road. The garden was luscious and green. However there were pigeons above the balcony that kept pooing all night and in the morning the balcony was covered in bird droppings. The rooms had high ceiling and larger bathrooms older furnishings and toilet fittings. The hot water kept running out every morning though. The food was really good.
On departure however the bill was stuffed up. They were charging us almost twice as what was quoted on the emails (always get rates in writing), which was sorted on departure with no hassle.
I would return to this place if we get a competitive rate like we got this time. Anything more i would rather stay at somewhere like Thilanka Resort Dambulla.

Room Tip: Ask for the new wing higher floor

The resort is set within lush greenery and natural surroundings - we even saw squirrels and monitor lizards during our stay. The room was nothing to shout about - though spacious, it was rather old with very basic furnishing.

The bathroom was stained but the saving grace was the new sink and toilet. My main grouse was the shower - they didn't have any handheld shower, just the rather primitive fixed overhead shower - ours was a little rusty to boot. My 2yo absolutely hates water running down her face so she screamed her lungs off when I showered her. Amidst the battle of getting her showered, the electricity tripped so she screamed even louder - definitely not a good experience for me!

We also used the pool but there were lots of dead insects/leaves/etc in the pool.

We had a better experience at the restaurant - the buffet dinner and breakfast spread was quite decent, and the staff were friendly.
