This was a last minute booking after our last lodging proved to be too far away to conveniently visit Sigiriya as a day trip. A short tut tut ride from the Dambulla bus station and very close to the cave paintings, Arika was an excellent starting location for daily excursions.
The gorgeous shower had open skylights and was an architectural gem, and a private patio overlooking the river in back provided a calming nature view after a long day of sightseeing.
There's no jacuzzi (the pool's shallow end by the steps had jets which makes a claim I read somewhere about the place having a jacuzzi a little bit misleading, but that small quip aside....)
Rooms were clean and functional, reasonably priced for boutique luxury accommodations, and the staff attentive without being overly so.
And the place had the best WIFI out of any of the places we stayed - it was lightning fast as the router was in the room.
The food was incredibly delicious. We ate only one dinner and choose the fixed price menu of appetizer, mushroom soup, fish curry, and chocolate mousse dessert. Small portions that were phenomenal. One of the best dinners on the trip.
I highly recommend this place as a transit stop or as home base for sightseeing in the Cultural Triangle
