We stayed two nights at Hotel Conte in Perast and absolutely loved it!
It is a very comfortable hotel with a surprisingly good restaurant also.
The hotel rate includes a buffet breakfast which you can take to the seaside tables to enjoy.
The rooms are quaint and very well decorated.
We loved our dinner so much that we ate there both nights. It was a truly enjoyable experience, including the advice from our hotel and waitstaff.
Perast is much smaller and quieter than Kotor but a 1€ bus ride will drop you off at the main gate to Kotor.
If you like to get off the path a bit, try Conte

Lovely room, very romantic. I will be back very soon. It has left a dent in my heart. Well worth the money. Very private complex. The restaurant was very nice as well. I'm planning a trip again to just go there.

What a lovely hotel in a postcard location.
We stayed in room 15 at the top of the main building overlooking the bay and waterside restaurant, perfect.
There was a lot of refurbishment happening in the town which was disappointing but in the late afternoon when work was over and the day trippers had left everything fell into place. The restaurant was great, we ended up eating there every night! And the local wine was very good.
So glad we chose to stay in Perast and this hotel.

The standard double (no.7) we were shown to was at the back of the hotel over the kitchens and a narrow alley with storerooms in the building facing. You could see straight into another room. The large noisy kitchen extractor exhaust was next to one of the windows and there was a lot of noisy kitchen activity. With the windows shut the air conditioning was working full blast to little effect. We asked to be moved and that request was dealt with professionally and pleasantly by a charming receptionist. We were given no.4 in an annex which consists of a sitting room with a bedroom and small ensuite shower room. It had lovely views and a side balcony but no air conditioning in the bedroom (not a problem during our stay). The air conditioning unit was at the far end of the sitting room, on the last night we could not get it to work.

The breakfasts were excellent, an impressive selection, and it was special to sit out on the terrace to enjoy them. However we were booked in for half board on three evenings which meant second rate set meals which was a great shame as the a la carte food looked delicious. There was little choice and the menu was repeated on two nights, no vegetarian option, and no notice taken of dietary requirements notified in advance. On the final night we were told we could choose off the a la carte menu with a small credit, which is probably the way to go. That night however the hotel was busy with a wedding in the square and the restaurant got side-lined. We waited 40 mins for our soup starters - and another long wait for our main course which had gone cold and looked thrown together. Our complaint was referred to the manager but he couldn't be bothered. With one or two exceptions the hotel and restaurant staff were very pleasant, helpful and professional.

Perast is a very pretty village in a stunning location. Sadly there is a lot of development and building activity and the narrow village street is clogged with traffic which it cannot sustain.

Room tip: Avoid Number 7 it looks out over a wall and is next to the kitchen extractor chimney.

We spent 3 nights in the hotel and had dinner in the hotel restaurant. We had a great time during our stay. The staff was extremely helpful (helped us to park our car), and friendly and gave us really good advice for activities (hiking in Kotor). The room was newly renovated, it was very beautiful and everything was clean. The view for the dinner by the water is absolutely magnificent and there were available tables. Food is tasty and well cooked - we enjoyed especially the seafood and the home-made bread. Wine list is vast and the waiter gave good recommendations about the local wines. I recommend the place for anyone who wants to relax in a calm small town and who enjoys amazing views and great food.
