I am going to give as honest a review as i can, but if i were to round it off, my title says it all. I checked in with the hubby on a Sunday, we stayed for about 6 days. First, the room was so small, and the bed was even smaller. Typically, when i check into a hotel, i would do a random tour, just to make sure everything works optimally.
The air-conditioning had been working for about 20 minutes and was not cooling, then i went to the bathroom and the sink didnt have a blocker (meaning if a creepy crawly (found its way into the pipes somehow, we would have been riddled with either roaches, wall ghekos or worse case scenario - snakes) - this didnt happen though. I turned on the tap to wash my face and when i was done i noticed that the sink was clogged as the water was not flowing. We called the reception and complained about both.
Thankfully, they changed our room to another - the AC was working fine in the new room, the major challenge there was that the hot water shower was not well regulated. When you turn on the shower, it gets really hot and even when you try to turn the knob to the cold water side, it still gives you really hot water.
On the bright side, hubs enjoyed their dinner on the first night. After two days, we got a room upgrade because the bed was quite small. The new room - had a bigger bed, same shower situation and a constant smell of renovation, as if they had just repainted the walls. i was ready to complain and request for another room change but hubs was tired of moving. I had to sleep with my inhaler at the bed stand, just in-case i needed to clear my airway during the night.
After 3 days, i noticed that the pillow cases had not been changed since we moved to the new room - which meant that there was possibility that the bed sheets were not changed either. I called the reception and spoke with a nice lady who expressed shock and said they would send a change of bed sheets, they never did.
The hotel is not all bad though, it seems pretty secure and not really pricey especially when you consider it is located in Victoria Island. its proximity to my work place was a plus for me. Parking was decent, the security men outside were friendly, willing to assist and the staff generally were decent. Hotel BonVoyage, however needs facility improvements/uplift.
Will i come back here! Absolutely not! I ve been to better for the same price range.
If you re looking for a decently priced hotel in VI, you may try your luck, perhaps you will have a better experience than i did.
