LOCATION
The hotel is five minutes from the airport
A taxi costs 10,000 naira (£20) even though it’s a five minute drive, you could even walk to check in if you are travelling light.
It’s convenient for check-in, arrivals/departures especially considering Lagos traffic which can take up to five hours on a bad day.
It has a private immigration check in for private jet flights.
The hotel is a couple of years old so everything is in top shape.
The decor is as expected of a Hilton and tasteful.
On arrival your baggage is screened and standard precautions are taken as expected during this Covid period.
Expect to be scanned before entry (as in airport style) but quick and efficient service!
CHECK IN
Check in was uneventful there was no queue the staff were lovely pleasant and engaged me in the normal banter.
I was welcomed back as a diamond member and given
a very generous welcome pack -it had two bottles of water, some snacks and kilishi which is a northern delicacy.
I felt very pampered.
THE ROOM
The room was an upgrade.
I found the room in peccable condition, well ordered tasteful and spotlessly clean. There was an array of tea and the bed was comfortable.
The bathroom was modern, although I felt the shower could have been bigger.
The cream on the icing was the molten Brown products in the bathroom which I found to be delightful! (A first for me)
FOOD AND SERVICE
I ordered two club sandwiches and Suya as a snack.
The Club Sandwich was the best I have tasted since I can remember,I just couldn’t fault it and the Suya was great as well.
So full marks for room service.
ie both the service and the food!
Lobby and surroundings
The Lobby was lovely.
Spacious, airy and welcoming
Due to covid the hotel guests were few.
Sleep quality
As in all my Hilton trips - excluding Istanbul airport hotel, I slept like a baby.
BREAKFAST
Great breakfast don’t miss it!
Nice welcome to breakfast cocktail which I enjoyed.
I must complain about the service not the food.
The food was great with a mix of local dishes and European, however it is not self-serve so you have to queue!!!
There was only one person serving and each customer took about five minutes so if you are number six you are standing in line for 30 minutes!!!
I left the line and settled for things I could take myself.
I realise it’s COVID season but perhaps a service where orders are taken at the table might be better or two people serving during peak hours.
This is why I have not given five stars
After a late check out I was sad to bid the hotel goodbye it was a nice short pleasant overnighter, one I intend to repeat on every trip there in future.
