Stayed 2 nights over at Berjaya Tioman Resort & it was one of the best decisions! The place was magnificent, with comfortable bed & pillow that will not give you stiff neck! I would strongly recommend everyone to stay here though at night it can get a bit boring cause all activities such as scuba-diving and snorkeling can only be done in the day!

The breakfast spread and dinner spread is spectacular. It changes everyday and you will definitely get bored with the food. I truly enjoyed the delicious food spread!

Room Tip: Probably you should request at the Garden area as this is near the seaside view.

You pay a a lot really, for what you get.

Tioman island, is stunning, it really is breathtaking. Dramatic mountains, endless rainforest and of course stunning beaches and clear water not seen elsewhere in asia.

So lets go! But where to stay... Hmmm, this is where its all goes down hill. There is no shortage of places to stay but they are either rustic, bare bones and often badly maintained places ( though some are charming) or ridiculously expensive.

Traveling as a couple, then you have more choices. A family with young children is limited, very very limited.Sure Im not one who is going to happily stay in a random beach hut with temperamental water and a wobbly ceiling fan, I would like something, some sense of luxury. If you are that person, then have fun, there are lots of choices.

Berjaya Resort plays on exactly what people like myself would like. Then perform consistently lower than what you expect. If they only put some money into the resort, actually thought about things in a little more detail, weren't so obviously lazy in their approach to running a resort, then they would have a winner. But no, Berjaya is a huge , wealthy company, that seems to be happy with status quo.

Its an island with so much potential, if only the right people were running it.

Go and see it, its not a waste of time, only a waste of money.

Room Tip: Book a ocean view, deluxe room, that has been recently renovated.

A one-stop holiday destination for the entire family. Clean rooms with good amenities. Great restaurant serving international cuisine. Lots of things to do for everyone. Snorkeling is great in front of the hotel and all around the island. Golfing in paradise ... who can complain. Tennis, table tennis, walks, or just lazing on the beach both day and night. All stress disappears. Sunsets are great too. Neighboring villages, ie, Tekek and Juara provide wider food and fun options. Kids and mommy happy equals all happy! Can't wait to get back!

Room Tip: Room Numbers 200s closest to restaurants and pool.

Took the two bedroom Berjaya condotel suite and shared with 2 other friends. Room came with sea view balcony, tv, living room, one bathroom and a basic kitchen. Amazing view of the turquoise sea and stars at night.

Berjaya itself is a self contain resort with great private beach, restaurants, bars, golf course and dive centre.

Transport was never an issue for us as the shuttles were pretty regular and there was always enough seats for everyone. You can get a taxi at te transport counter located right outside Berjaya main gate.

Loved it!

As New Yorkers who used to escape the city for the mountains on weekends, we figured that, living in Singapore, we should try a weekend getaway in Pulau Tioman, which we are now affectionately referring to as "The Catskills of Singapore." Berjaya seems to be the Mohonk of Tioman...yes, it had it's heyday twenty some odd years ago and yes, the rooms are a bit frayed on the edges, but it's still an unbeatable experience to explore a truly beautiful Island. And who wants to spend time in the room when you have jungle treks, spa treatments, snorkeling, diving, poolside sunning, swimming in the South China Sea, etc. all to pack in in one weekend? (That said, despite some of the reviews to the contrary, there wasn't a single time that we didn't appreciate the cool comfort of the room and collapse on the bed in the wonderful air-conditioning after hours of play in the heat.)

The grounds are lovely, the amenities top notch and the staff friendly and helpful. We loved the morning jungle trek and the snorkeling - which is an easy five-minute boat ride from the shore - is some of the best I've done. The spa services are a bit pricier than you see elsewhere in SE Asia, but still worth it. A relaxing and delightful experience all around. We'll be back and will recommend to others - including those with kids.

Room Tip: Had a cute deck w/chairs, but would have loved a room that overlooked the water.
