Kilaguni Serena Lodge was the first place we stayed during our two week safari. We all agreed that if we came back, we would return here. The Lodge is lovely, quaint, kind of storybook feel to it. The rooms are very nice, but the ceiling fan could be bigger -- ours wasn't too effective. Overlooking the water hole is amazing -- we watched elephants come up below our balcony, as well as some antelope who all slept by the water hole one night. Watching the wildlife is simply incredible! The restaurant is very nice, the staff are all lovely. The pool was nice too, it could use a bit of updating but that's a minor thing. All in all, highly recommend Kilaguni!

The lodge was one of the highlights of our 11 day safari when it came to the lodges and its location. It has the most amazing lounge/dining area. Well designed, spaciously laid out and and eye for detail. The space overlooks the adjacent watering hole that is softly lit in the hours of darkness. A wide array of animals can be viewed and in considerable numbers too: elephants, giraffes, zebras and water buffalo.The evening viewings were amazing and the baby elephants the star turn as the frollicked in the water. At night the sounds from outside the room remind your where you are and seeing a herd of elephants just yards from our balcony

The rooms were spacious and with views of the watering hole and Mount Kilimanjaro. The food was nicely presented and delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful. Nothing seemed too much trouble. The pool area could do with a little TLC but provided a cooling dip before the afternoon game drive. Incredible place this.

My family and I stayed here as part of a safari vacation through Classic Escapes. Oh, this was actually August 2017 that we travelled. This hotel has a watering hole on the property. It is incredible to watch the different animals that visit. Different animals come during different parts of the day. You could easily spend the day and night just sitting on their veranda watching them. Guinea fowls, impala, hartebeest, zebra, giraffe, warthogs, water buffalo, elephants — all visit the watering hole. Magnificent! And you are right there. No binoculars needed, except if you want particular details — helpful with viewing the birds better. The staff are very friendly and helpful. One in our group had a birthday and they sang the Kenyan birthday song ! And when one in our group got sick, they had a nurse practitioner on site available. I highly recommend this and the other Serena hotels.
