a lovely place to get out of busy cities and traffic. want to go back and stay more nights so we can go for one of the offered trips to the desert. If it's important for you, make sure you have a room with your own bathroom, otherwise it's shared. good wifi.
CON: not that easy to find! but maybe that's the idea....

We stayed a night in Farvardinn. I booked the place via email and Masoud was very responsive. He helped arrange a pickup from Shiraz to the hotel with stops at Persepolis, Necropolis and Pasargard for 140USD (inclusive of guide, excluding tickets). We arrived at night to find that we were the only guests for the night and nobody was around, which wasn't expected but the driver ensured we managed to settle in fine before leaving us for the night. The room was very spacious with 2 single beds and 2 double beds although we only reserved a twin room. Bathroom was spacious too with a very modern bathtub, and both a sitting and squat toilet. The room cost us 40USD per night.

We woke in the morning to an empty place but bread, tomatoes, cucumbers and tea were set out for us. The housekeeper appeared towards the end of breakfast and cooked us eggs. Then Masoud came and took us on a walk around the village. His tour was very educational and enjoyable. We also went on a desert day trip with his brother for 150euros for 2 of us, which consisted of trekking in the desert, outdoor cooking, watching the sun set…which we thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend. I think the overnight trip would be even more lovely but we didn't have time. Masoud also kindly showed us around Yazd city the next day and helped arrange our transport to Isfahan, recommending we stop by Meybod, Chak Chak and Na'in, which we enjoyed too.

What makes this an excellent is the hospitality that Masoud and his brothers show. Masoud, in particular, shares interesting and engaging stories, providing an authentic local insight into Iranian life. I would definitely recommend spending some time with him for a more comprehensive Iranian experience, and we will be sure to look him up the next time we are back. Keep an open mind and you'll have a lot of fun.

We didn't stay at Farvardinn as they didn't have any rooms available.
However Mohammed still offered a private visit to the desert.
We were picked up at 2pm at our hotel in yazd by Mohammed and his vintage 4x4, he took us to a part of Dashte Lut near Fahraj village, after walking around beautiful sand dunes and sliding down a few times
Mohammed prepared "tea in the desert" :-) while we watched the sunset and take photos
He prepared all fresh vegetarian Persian stew, while we smoked apple shisha :-)
But of course there are no words to describe the beauty of star gazing in the desert
Next time I would like to do the sleepover tour.

Of course the vehicle is not in great condition breaks sometimes or tire gets punctured etc.
I would say just trust these guys and know everything will be ok in the end and Enjoy The Ride!

The desert inn is a very nice place if you want to relax, get out of the city for a while, and to eat lovely food (!). Masoud and Fahimeh are really kind and can also arrange desert trips, guided visits in Yazd (Fahimeh is also a fantastic guide!) or hotels in Yazd for you. We just stayed one night in the desert inn, and one night in the desert, both during Moharram ,and these days were amongst the most memorable days in our holiday.
