It's a tiny family hotel with good rooms and good breakfast/dinner.
It's perfect for backpackers, who wanna make new friends and enjoy travelling!
We stayed here 2 more nights and we didn't wanna leave.

Room Tip: All the rooms are good!

This is a good budget option, which is pretty much the first hostel off the boat. We stayed in a double room with a mosquito net and a shared bathroom with hot shower for 100 rps per night (low season price). This was a comfortable sized room but was quite close to the kitchen and communal area - that said, it was pretty quiet by 10pm most nights. We did however stay during low season so when there are more guests and the bar area is busier I would recommend requesting a room away from the communal area. Like most places we’ve stayed in Sumatra, there is alot of background noise (motor bikes, people talking etc) throughout the night, so ear plugs are useful for light sleepers. The hostel seems to be run by a group of teenagers and like most teens any small request (ordering food, drink or enquiring about excursions) seems to generate a laboured response. That said, overall, we enjoyed our stay at Bagus Bay.

The deluxe room was very pleasant, clean with a hot shower and a nice balcony. There was a nice common area at the restaurant, the chapati was yummy and the place has some nice chairs directly at the water.

We stayed at Bagus for 5 nights in a twin room which is clean, spacious, light and airy with a good bathroom (there are lots of varieties of rooms so check a few before choosing!) . The homestay is right on the lake which is a perfect spot for swimming and taking in the nice scenery. There are plenty of free activities to do (canoe, pool table etc..) and the room is a reasonable price. Internet is at the bar area not in the room, and our room was located near the kitchen so there was a fair bit of noise in the morning (and we were always hungry because it smelt good!) The dance show was very lacking in enthusiam and as were the staff throughout our stay, it always felt an effort to ask/ order something and it looked impossible for them to smile! Great place to stay a few days but the staff let it down.

Room Tip: Have a look at a few rooms before choosing, very different room to room!

We booked this hotel last minute just before we visited Tuk-tuk. And it turns out to be a truly memorable stay! Especially the food! We're vegetarians and they served really great variety of food which tastes really good! Beds are okay. If you're going to be out a lot, it's not gonna be a big problem. Besides, you could always chill at the restaurant!
