Terrific view drom the room, but the room smells moldy and the bathroom was full of mold.
The table in the restaurant was full of dead flies and bugs when we came for breakfast and in general everything was dirty.

Stayed here for one night on a G-Adventures tour. Our room had stunning views of Mount Batur and the lake. The room was decent sized. The bathroom has a rainfall shower head. This makes the shower great, but the water floods the entire bathroom floor. Because I was on a tour, sharing with a room mate, there was 1 large bed and 1 foldable spongy matress set up near it. I got the smaller bed and could barely sleep all night becuase of the spongy matress. When our group left at 3 am to climb the volcano, I stayed in and finally got a few hours of sleep in the proper bed.
There are no lifts or air conditioning in these rooms and you can not leave the windows open due to mosquitoes.
The food in the restaurant-for dinner, and breakfast buffet was good
The views from the lobby and restaurant are amazing.

We stayed here for one night on a G-Adventures tour. The hotel has stunning views of Mount Batur and the lake from both the rooms and the restaurant, however this is where the positives end based on our experience. Our room was tired, shabby and poorly maintained and then bed was uncomfortable. The bathroom looked like something from a prison cell, dirty floor & tiles, no shower curtain and dirty/broken toilet. The food in the restaurant for dinner was average and the breakfast buffet the next morning was poor. We were happy that we only had to stay in the room for a few hours as we got up at 3am to hike up the Volcano!

No need to hike the volcano, you have almost as good view of the lake from the hotel and restaurant. The rooms were simple, with lots of stairs and a steep hill to get to the restaurant, but what a spectacular view from both the room and the restaurant. The food at breakfast and dinner was very good. Wifi is only available in the outdoor seating area by reception and in the restaurant, not in the room. We were encouraged to try early morning tours, but this is unnecessary, especially if you have a driver.

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony overlooking the lake.

If you are just looking for somewhere to sleep for a couple of nights this is fine, but I wouldn't spend any length of time here.

The toilet leaked and flooded the floor in the night, the wet room isn't great at draining the water, it isn't very secure in that it doesn't have a safe or deposit box and the bed was very hard.

They do have tea and coffee making facilities in the room which is nice so you can sit out on the mini balcony and look at the gorgeous view.
