Let me manage your expectation - the facilities are a bit old - but the price is quite cheap, so it's not a bad choice if you just want to stay here for next morning's volcano hike. Most importantly, Mount Batur is just outside your window! For those who come to Bali, you should not miss a journey to Kintamani as you will enjoy the majestic view of an active volcano close enough to impress you. The restaurant has a mountain view too - but be reminded that stray dogs are smart enough to come in and beg for food. Don't panic when you see them.

Room Tip: You can see Mount Batur from all rooms - so no worries!

Terrific view drom the room, but the room smells moldy and the bathroom was full of mold.
The table in the restaurant was full of dead flies and bugs when we came for breakfast and in general everything was dirty.

Stayed here for one night on a G-Adventures tour. Our room had stunning views of Mount Batur and the lake. The room was decent sized. The bathroom has a rainfall shower head. This makes the shower great, but the water floods the entire bathroom floor. Because I was on a tour, sharing with a room mate, there was 1 large bed and 1 foldable spongy matress set up near it. I got the smaller bed and could barely sleep all night becuase of the spongy matress. When our group left at 3 am to climb the volcano, I stayed in and finally got a few hours of sleep in the proper bed.
There are no lifts or air conditioning in these rooms and you can not leave the windows open due to mosquitoes.
The food in the restaurant-for dinner, and breakfast buffet was good
The views from the lobby and restaurant are amazing.

We stayed here for one night on a G-Adventures tour. The hotel has stunning views of Mount Batur and the lake from both the rooms and the restaurant, however this is where the positives end based on our experience. Our room was tired, shabby and poorly maintained and then bed was uncomfortable. The bathroom looked like something from a prison cell, dirty floor & tiles, no shower curtain and dirty/broken toilet. The food in the restaurant for dinner was average and the breakfast buffet the next morning was poor. We were happy that we only had to stay in the room for a few hours as we got up at 3am to hike up the Volcano!

No need to hike the volcano, you have almost as good view of the lake from the hotel and restaurant. The rooms were simple, with lots of stairs and a steep hill to get to the restaurant, but what a spectacular view from both the room and the restaurant. The food at breakfast and dinner was very good. Wifi is only available in the outdoor seating area by reception and in the restaurant, not in the room. We were encouraged to try early morning tours, but this is unnecessary, especially if you have a driver.

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony overlooking the lake.
