There are few better photos in Bukhara than snapping this medressa in the early evening light. The tilework here is better than any I saw in Samarkand. Inside the building still acts as a place of education so be respectful when entering.

Like most of the public buildings of its time, the tile and mosaic work on the facade is intricate and beautiful.

My trip to Bukhara, Uzbekistan was not planned. I was not interested to go but decided to just follow the group with almost zero knowledge about this country. To my surprise, I must say this is my best trip ever.... Mir-i-Arab Madrasah is one of those specatular buildings built hundreds of years ago in Bukhara.

The Madrasah is a masterpiece of Islamic architecture and one of the must see sights in Bukhara. Located in the centre of town, the entrance to the madrasah is simply wonderful and words find it hard to describe. This has been wonderfully restored and the intricate workmanship and designs are of a class of their own.

A current day working Madrasah with students studying both the Koran and other subjects. Impressive architecture, stunningly colourful. Situated on a square opposite a mosque, close to the ancient Kalon Minaret and the trading Domes souvenir area.

A must see.
