This plaza is located in the heart of the old town. It has the feel of a true oasis in an oasis town. It is a great place to meet friends, to eat, to drink and to relax in the shade. The atmosphere is cooled by the long rectangular reflecting pool that makes up the center of the plaza and by the shade of the trees that ring the plaza. The mulberry trees here are hundreds of years old and frame the 16th and 17th century madrassahs. There is also a good photo op with a large metal statue of a donkey.
Lovely little pool in the middle of the old town. Great for people watching (e.g. newly-wed couples), stunning architecture and shady trees around. It doesn't get much more picturesque than this (if it weren't for the many tourists...).
This square is in the old town of Bukhara, next to the some of the most interesting places of the city. Has one of the only two pools that was kept in the town.
With some nice restaurants around, as well an ice cream parlour (with nice expresso black coffee, as we Portuguese people loves!).
A lot of shops around.
I recommend a morning walk here and then come back and watch the life in the early evening. I was lucky enough to be here on the 25th year of celebration of the independent and they had a real family oriented party.
Beautiful historical buildings and nice place for eating and drinking by the water with fountains. At night great for the whole family. Guides also can be found here to take you through the entire old city.
