The location is very nice, friendly staff, the beach is beautiful even though it was quite hard to swim there. The breakfast food is really average, we tried their bagel and chicken sandwich both not tasty at all, the rest of the buffet is quite average. Would expect much better taste for this kind of hotel and the price we pay.

We have enjoyed staying in CABANA koh Tao. This pleace is designed for relaxation and have peace of mind, going to near by island very long sandy beach just foot steps
Facilities are well taking care of and have very friendly staff and very cooperative I mean extremely helpful. The receptionist very polite and respectful and very informative

Thanks all for making my stay memorable.

We enjoyed our fairly long stay a lot. The resort is located at the end of the beach, which means you can easily walk to the lively village, while being in a quite location otherwise.
There's good snorkling right from the resort; at the same time, the beach in front of the resort is beautiful.

The thing with all the different accommodation types is a bit confusing - until you are there, then it becomes clearer. For instance:
-deluxe sea view cottage: large, 3 rooms (and not much sea view, actually). Close to the beach, pool and restaurant. Balcony, not safe for kids.
-the other cottages are different: some smaller, some larger, all further up the hill - a bit of walking needed to get to them.
All cottages are beautiful wood buildings.

The whitesand villas are smaller than the salas - all of them are more central, have no sea view but are therefore closer to the pool area. We moved between rooms, and I'd personally choose the smaller whitesand villa over the deluxe sea view cottage. While the cottage is larger and better located, the villa is a large, round room build of stone, which improves the climate inside, and also takes care of the nightly party noise which, while really not loud unless you are sensitive, is a bit of a downer in the wooden cottages, as you can also read in several reviews here.

The pool is sizable and good, although it had to be repaired unexpectedly while we were there - that can happen, but was a bit of a let-down as it took a week.

The restaurant serves good food/breakfast (both buffet and a la carte). However, most nights we chose to get dinner in the village as we found restaurants there (like the all seasons) to be more authentic and better value for money (and a nice walk along the beach with a fantastic sunset).

So: go for good-quality rooms, nice pool, beautiful, clean resort area, good location (calm yet close to the village). We enjoyed it and extended our trip because we really liked this mixture of different qualities.

Room Tip: White sand villa for a good mix of size, location and price

We loved our stay at Koh Tao Cabana. It is a bit pricey but is at the quieter end of the main beach. Every where was clean and tidy. Although some maintenance could be carried out as fittings and fixtures are looking tired.
You are in good walking distance to a lot of restaurants, yoga, small village with seven eleven, shopping, massage.
We stayed in the 260 cottage and had fabulous views over the bay.
We did have to wear ear plugs at night as the bars across the bay music can be heard at the resort.
Breakfast included was lovely and the staff friendly.
We didn’t have any wifi access during our stay but this was more of an inconvenience.
I guess the prices you are paying you expect the modern conveniences to be up to standard.

We went on our honeymoon, staying for a few nights at Koh Tao Cabana at the end of our trip. The pool was being worked on, so they upgraded us to a suite with it's own small pool, looking over the beach. The room service was excellent, and they didn't seem bothered at me ordering the tasty banana coconut soup every night! The only thing is there are quite a few steps/walking if you aren't by the main building, to get to your room. Worth it for the quiet though.
Nice facilities and will do everything they can to help you.
Lovely place to end our honeymoon.
