We stayed in a superior room, which had its own sitting area. The room was spacious and quite clean. The hotel is situated in a rather quiet street near the main tourist attractions and night market. Overall, it was okay, but then again, for 1200 baht you'd expect as much, esp. in Thailand.

Staying here will give you an idea how living in a traditional house is (was) like. The bedroom had a very high instep and the wooden door was massive and creaky - waking up just about everyone at night for a trip to the loo. The bathroom, although private, is on the ground floor while the room itself is in the first floor. This is a hassle for nightly bathroom trips, esp. since the noisy bedroom door wakes everyone up.

This hotel looks very good and posh at first site, with period fan and furniture. You'll find very quickly, however, that the nice looking wooden love seat and chairs are bloody uncomfortable after sitting in them for more than 15 minutes. The hotel could also do with a lick of paint. To become a true niche or boutique hotel, a lick of paint or rather varnish would be welcomed and give it that extra touch.

The garden around the house is peaceful, but it could have been made into a nice little park. Now it's just there to look at, undeveloped. The self-service breakfast is adequate, if you don't bump your head into one of the low beams to be found just about everywhere. Duck if you're over 5'6''!

Rickety bicycles are for rent at 50 baht a day. These are invaluable to explore the nearby temple sites. This place can't be seen on foot as it's too big. Tuktuks are another alternative.

Each and every corner of the place looks great, not only in pictures but also in real life!

The place is Traditional Thai decorated, feels very homely, great quietness even though it is not far from the streets. Place is surrounded by a small river stream, makes the place quite cooling. It can be difficult to be found if its your first time there, need some good navigation work to get there(but all these is a small problem).

The price of the rooms are very reasonable, 840baht for a standard room including breakfast. Breakfast serves toasts and eggs made to your choice, with tea or coffee or water, fruits are served too. Rooms has all the needed amenities and facilities(though all tv channels are in Thai). There's free WiFi even!

The staff are also really friendly, and provides good help and information.

The only cons would be, its not handicap friendly. Cos' you have stairway to rooms, room door are Thai Style, have to walk over it, bathrooms are down the stair under the balcony.

But all in all, its a great stay!

Room Tip: Take the deluxe room for more privacy, take the Standard Twin(family) room if you are traveling in g...

Ad the time I was there, I think I was the only one. Still I only needed to pay one night and was able to use a shower before taking a sleepertrain. I used a bike for two days, only had to pay for one day. The staff lended me their laptops, which was great. I didn't asked but was offered if needed.
The room is unbelievable good for the lowprice you have to pay. TV, airco and little fridge on the cheapest rooms. The room itself is small, but why would you be in it anyway? There's a nice place to sit outside. Very good size bathroom.

Room Tip: It's all good!

We have just finished an 11 nights stay here and it is one of the lovliest places of our journey. The guesthouses are surrounded by a moat with adorable fish that you can share your breakfast with. The gardens are so nice and you are surrounded by green. Staff are friendly and looked after us. The breakfasts of eggs, toast, jam and fresh fruits were good. During the day we visted a number of restaurants, one near the river and some along the river, most were quite good and all of them very reasonably priced. Food prices in Ayutthaya are lower than what we have seen in Bangkok. We ate mostly at Nut's Place next to the 7/11, that is on the same street as the guesthouse, and also at Sherwoods Guesthouse, both places offer delicious food and people are friendly and welcoming.
The gorgous wooden traditional style rooms are a must to be experienced, and have very comfy bedding. I nearly cried after nearly a month of hard pillows and mattresses in India.
The bathroom is downstairs underneath the room, it is for your private use and the stairs were not a problem for us.
This is also in walking distance from the Buddha head in the Bodhi tree. Well worth seeing this amazing thing that has happened over time to a stone Buddha, where only the head remains.
You may need to book directly with them from their website, I couldn't find them on Agoda. Just an email or phone call to reserve your room is needed.
