Hotel Bundi Haveli is a reasonably comfortable place to stay (although with a couple of plug sockets and a lamp not working in my room), but the service leaves a little to be desired. I often felt quite awkward here, as if I was being a nuisance. I arrived quite late at night (but with plenty of advance warning that this was going to be the case, due to my train and bus journey to Bundi). When I arrived I was bundled to my room incredibly quickly - I didn't even get the chance to ask for a bottle of water. As my own water was running very low, I spent the night quite thirsty. At my current hotel in Jodhpur, by contrast, I arrived at a similar time, but was welcomed properly, offered a drink, and asked if I needed anything to eat.
At the other end of the stay, when checking out, I was asked how much I owed, which took me aback, as I assumed they'd have kept track of such things themselves. I was asked to look for emails on my phone which then I couldn't find, making it quite a stressful experience.
The food is fine, but as other reviews have mentioned you don't get provided with a menu at breakfast, making it a bit of a guessing game. I asked on my first morning if cereal was offered, and told "no" - only on my last morning did I see another guest having cornflakes and realise this was an option all along. The toast served for breakfast wasn't great.
Having said all this, my stay here wasn't bad by any means - I'm just a little puzzled by the very glowing reviews. I think it'd take very little effort to provide a slightly more professional and welcoming service to guests.
