The Bhag resort in Bharthpur is about 3 KM from the bird sanctuary and the Bhag itself is like bird sanctuary with a variety of Birds, and I saw even a Grey Horn bill and Peacocks going around Freely. Surround by plenty Greenery, trees the resort gives you feel of Rajasthan's old days architecture with all modern amenities. It provides great Food and the chef SUNDARAM Anna could all the tastes of tip of south India, spicy Rajasthani food and food from every corner of India

Room Tip: Enjoy being with Nature here

Some of the road out of Bharatpur was being dug up when we visited (Oct-16), and then the tarmac ran out completely. Didn't look promising.....and then there it was, a grand entrance, with some vintage cars to one side in garages, and then some large grounds with separate buildings housing rooms and restaurant. Easy to get confused in the dark, finding your way from one to the other. Attentive, helpful staff to put you right. Nice quiet, comfortable room.

Stayed for three days. As part of a family holiday. The resort was quiet when we were there as it was the low season. The restaurant served very good breakfast and dinner. Lunches were brought to the rooms. The whole hotel is set in a very lush setting of a former Royal Orchard.

Plenty of peacocks and peahens wandering around.

Located about 2km from the Keoladeo bird santctuary, the main attraction of Bharatpur, the Bagh resort is an old styled resort with all modern comforts. The accessibility to the resort was a problem when I visited in mid Aug-2016 as the road leading to the resort was under construction, and that was quite a put-off.

Though not among the biggest, the property is very green and well maintained. There are lots of peacocks roaming around in the property which makes for a beautiful sight. Activities include swimming pool, library, pool table, carrom etc.

Rooms and bathrooms are decent in size and nice, clean. All major amenities are available in the room (AC, tea/coffee maker, safe, toiletries, but no TV). The staff and management is pretty courteous and helpful. However, I found the room service and restaurant service a bit slow. The Rajasthani food served in the buffett was good, other food was also ok.

Since we were there on the Independence Day eve, they organised a nice cultural evening in the courtyard which was a nice gathering. It made up for the lack of things to do at night in the sleepy town of Bharatpur.

Overall, it was worth a night's stay.

While travelling around India we were thrilled to find this gem of a resort. It is fantastic - you are instantly taken back to an opulent maharaja's garden. The forest area in the resort is beautiful - rooms feel as though they are isolated in a forest paradise. Rooms have an old age Indian splendour which we instantly fell in love with. After the bustling Indian cities this is a gem of peace and tranquility. The hotel manager was so helpful and supportive and the staff were fantastic without being overbearing - the best service we experienced in India so far. Laxman Singh who ran the restaurant in the evening was absolutely brilliant - we can't thank him enough for his fabulous suggestions and impeccable service. Thank you!
