the foto on trip advisor site while accurate is deceptive. It looks grand, it's not grand. We arrived and were received nicely enough in the reception area that had a couch and chair to sit on. It only went down hill from there.
I don't know how long this hotel has been around but it both looked brand new and still under construction. It has a half finished look and feel with doors jams and windows not properly fitting -- gaping spaces -- allowing extra opportunity for mosquitoes and bugs to enter the rooms. Just shoddy. There were flamboyant details in the molding in the rooms and the outdoor bannisters. Yet the hotel fundamentals -- cleanliness completely absent. The bathroom is a huge room with no curtain of any sort that guarantees you soak the whole bathroom when you shower. The toilet seat was visibly black with filth - we wiped it clean ourselves. There were ants and dark bugs of some sort all over the bathroom floor. I wiped it up just to find more had fallen from somewhere 10 minutes later.
The sheets and towels in all 3 rooms our group had ranged from dirty to filthy. When we complained the staff seemed a bit perplexed -- "like what are these women complaining about". It was really gross. In the end they had to go town to get clean sheets and towels - they had none on hand. When the staff started to make the beds we questioned whether any of the staff had ever actually made a bed. before. They didn't get enough clean sheets for us all. I ended up using several towels as a top sheet. I can't say that our experience seemed like an anomaly and I can't say I'd recommend the place.
Good experience -- one of the folks in our small group had a family emergency in the US and the hotel staff was incredible in helping them with internet and cell phone access to look into flight options and contact the US hospital.
Additionally, the breakfast was really good. It was included in the room rate and you were able to pick from the menu. They had the best stuffed parantha and curd that we had on our trip. The also had western breakfast options.
It wasn't clear whether there were better options near Kaleodeo Bird Sancturary.
