Worst Service, Skeletal Staff (the receptionist is the chef!!), No reception in the TV (reason given: monkey has broken the cable). Delayed Food, Bad Food, Did not get what I ordered. On the top of that, the menus seem to be no where found. Just Imagine, For 20 rooms in the hotel, and there are only 3 menus which are circulated around.
At the time of checkout, we were presented with a photocopied menu, which had different and exorbitant prices than the one we ordered from. Apart from giving you a high blood pressure and taking your moolah, there is nothing much this hotel /haveli/hostel can offer.
The property is nice, although is quite far from the Bird Sanctuary. An old dilapidated haveli has been converted into a hotel. Or should I say, is in the process of conversion.

A wonderful old crumbling palace full of surprises around every corner. Mahal Khas Palace deserves to be renovated and brought back to its former glory. So much potential in this heritage hotel. I could not stop taking photographs!

The owner family itself lives in this, with much respect for the historic basic structure of the building, partly restored old maharaja-palace. For logical reasons they first protected the whole huge building - the highest of the Lohagarh Fort-Isle - against humidity from above, monkeys from outside and a possible collapse of the many balconies. Most of the interior decoration and the paintings, which the palace is partly painted with, are still original and spread a lot of its original charm. The day life happens in and around the magnificent, multi-storey courtyard. At every daytime it's an ideal place for meeting, but also for relaxation, especially in the evening with the magic illumination. Because of the limited number of chambers this is fortunately a hotel for the individual tourist. According to that the hosts and their helpers are very attentive and take personal care of all the guests necessities, but also for little niceties. The view from the upper roof terraces is magnificent - not only at sunrise and sunset -, the Forts location inside Bharatpur is unique and central to all sights and, however apart from the loud business areas, surprisingly quiet. We can also recommend the food in the Forts own restaurant and every morning we’d enjoyed the rich breakfast (with best masala tea!) in the shady courtyard, where the cries of the pigeons, swallows and parrots resounded. The only point of criticism is the collapse of voltage some times (always repaired as fast as possible) and perhaps the slowness of the staff. Nevertheless we would choose this heritage-hotel again and prefer it over all the other, bigger and with much more staff perhaps perfectly managed and functioning hotels, because it's absolutely unique, very individual large rooms are offered and all is done as best as they can with a lot of Indian kindness. We can highly recommend this Fort and we would like to wish the owners to be successful in the future with this concept making the guests being comfortable in these wonderful surroundings!

This is an old indian palace where royal families used to live many-many years before! There is still preserved vintage accessories, furniture, lamps, murals and paintings on walls and ceilings, even on floor. I fall in love with colours and architecture of the palace! I asked to visit whole palace and staff kindly guided me and explained everything i asked. We went upside to the roof and i saw whole town! That was awesome view!
Staff is no so professional but kind and helpful! Food is also nice. No complains))
Few days before i called for booking a room there again, but they told the palace is under renovation and rooms will be available after some time. So i'm waiting))

Room Tip: All rooms are different and beautiful, but we chose the Maharani suit and i was really feeling like...

Location sucks, right in the middle of a walled locality. Pathetic service. Food quality was worse than a roadside eatery. Dinner for a family of 7 cost us Rs. 4871. When I saw the bill carefully I retaliated that about half of it was just because of the 21 chapatis we had. Rs. 80 per chapati (roti)!!!! Worst hotel stay experience in out travel history. One word for you - BEWARE!!
