I loved this place. Its got real charm and character, and the spa treatments are an added bonus. If like me, your reject the bland consistency of most modern hotels, then you will be glad to find the Svaasa

We stayed in a top floor room which was clean and well supplied. Wifi worked. Bathroom large. Water worked well. Outside area a bit neglected. No TV or Mini-bar but this was nice for a change. Well looked after at dinner and breakfast- we felt prices were very reasonable. We did not experience the hospitality that others were afforded. I felt this was perhaps because we did not book directly with the hotel. We were given very little information eg alcohol was available if you asked, also, it had to be paid separately in cash at checkout. We were catching the evening train to Delhi and spent the day around the hotel, at no point were we informed food was available. We were happy with the hotel itself and had a great time in Amritsar but not the hospitality shown by the hosts.

Its impossible to describe this pleasant stay in words, its best experienced!

Svaasa is a boutique heritage haveli with a lot of history entrenched in it. We booked a stay in the premium room but were lucky to get upgraded to a suite. The staff in the kitchen and lobby are as friendly as they can get. We loved the breakfast spread , a mix of Indian and continental , good enough to satisfy most palate. Don't forget to try the home made pastries, cookies and macaroons . Thanks to experienced therapists, an Ayurvedic treatment is recommended .

The haveli is well managed by the Mehra family, our warm hosts, who were kind enough to throw light into the history of the haveli and Amritsar city. There is a story behind every part of the haveli, which is as fascinating as the city.

We stayed at Svaasa for a couple of days enroute to Delhi. We dearly missed the character and warmth of Svaasa in our Delhi stay.

Thanks Abhimanyu for being a warm host and the macaroons - Probably the I ever had!

what a brilliant aged property, visited with family though one day only but great attention to detail given. Its a heaven for those looking for serenity and tranquility. services are good. Bit overpriced i would say for the location and entry accessabilty.
recomended for family visits for sure..

A small cute heritage hotel in Amritsar (Tel. +91 183 2566618). Big well provided rooms. Nice little garden with lots of bird life. Plenty of beautiful antiques everywhere. Delicious food. Hospitality par excellence. Deepak, Rubal and Kajal took excellent care. The owner, young charming Abimanyu was always at hand.

This lovely place was suggested by our very knowledgeable travel agent, Satish Solanki (Tel. +91 22 28200778). I will recommend a paid consultation by him (Rs. 400/-), before planning a holiday trip in India. He can show pictures, videos and details about various properties. The charges are reimbursable if you do the trip through him.

Room Tip: all the rooms are good
