Even nice hangout place. Play area, seating arrangements are there. At evening it's worth visiting for passing the time.

Garden is around 2km from amritsar railway station. There is no entry fees.

So enjoyed time spent wandering these gardens, enjoying the lush {in August} plant growth, trees flowers etc. Also enjoyed the smiles and happy faces of the locals who seemed to be also enjoying this green central garden area. Maintenance isn't an issue for more. If I wanted perfectly maintained gardens I probably would be in Europe. I am in India because I love India and its parks and gardens like this one.

It's nothing special, but it's a nice walk in you are on your way to the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Panorama (Museum) which is located inside.

In this garden there is also the old Summer house of the Maharaja, which is almost in ruins... It's a pity. With the proper maintenance would be a great spot... but without it looks poor and it's empty of any visitor.

I saw some works there, but some of the workers there told it will take 3 years (!) to restore the place. At least they started...

The Ram Bagh gardens are being restored...ever so slowly. The waterworks and the old brickwork has been exposed to show an ancient network of history unfolding itself. The restoration is painstaking with lime and brick powder et al. One hopes the work and the clean up brings joy to the visitors for ages.

The gardens were a short walk from our hotel and provided a pleasant space to stroll away from traffic and people pressure. Nothing too special here but certainly nice to see a green space in a busy and crowded city.

We enjoyed wandering around the summer palace of the maharaja and enjoying imagining the place in it's heydey.
