I had stayed at this hotel a couple of years back - I had done some online research then and decided on this hotel as possibly the best within walking distance from Trimbakeshwar temple. So when I decided to visit Trimbakeshwar again, I decided to go in to the same place, as it was a short 1 day trip and did not want to experiment. Called up and booked room over phone - no hassles. They were quite friendly. Reached the place very late at night - beyond midnight. Woke up the front desk guys - quite friendly and courteous. Got rooms quickly. I think the same room that we stayed a couple of years back - on the first floor. No lifts. The rooms seem to have deteriorated - The room was clean, but not well maintained. TV remote did not work, the bathroom lights did not work. No 24 hr running hot water. We wanted to go to the temple early, but were told that hot water would be available only from 5 to 7 in the morning. We wanted hot water at 4 - they obliged by bringing hot water in buckets at 4 in the morning ! Of course - we had to wake them up. I had read on one of the internet sites that they have a 24 hour coffee shop - that is wrong information. They do not have any 24 hour facility. Breakfast is available after 7 - better try at 8, unless you want to wait for a long time. For food, although the place is ok, suggest that you try other local places and experiment. The hotel still looks very good from outside, and is about 10 minutes walk from the temple. But as I said, I get the feeling that the hotel has deteriorated - still relatively clean rooms. The curtains do not cover the windows fully - you can see slits on the sides. The bedding / pillows did not look inviting and clean - but I doubt if one can get better in such a small town. This is still possibly the best hotel in the area - only one other hotel looks good from outside - Sahayadri, but no idea how the rooms are there. I have never tried any other hotel in the town. The hotel is ok if you want an early morning trip to the temple - that could be important, as the temple can be quite crowded during normal day time, during certain times of the year - better check that before you visit the place.
