Absolutely fantastic. I mean absolutely SENSATIONAL. What gorgeous lovely warm human beings who live in a stunning house which spands through there generations. We began with an immersive garden tour indulging in the eye poppingly vast array of fruit and plants, a tour by a master of their crafts who treasured what his labour yields- we are talking passion fruit, lychee/ mango’ avocado - and many more exotic wonderful plants and fruits . It was so educational and a tickle for all the senses. We loved the eco efficiency of the plot which has inspired me to be more self-suffient to avoid waste, there is too many wonderful things to say I need an entire book to express my affection for this experince. The chefs were fantastic teachers. The spice fresh from the garden straight into the food, a magical moment we have never had the pleasure to enjoy. The cooking was very professionally taught, and it ran like clockwork ! - a military operation of love- which we chucked into the food ! It showed ! The food was fantastic- the best we have had in Kerela and dare I say it in India ! But what made it so special was the truly authentic welcoming and vitality of culture. It was SO delicious and such a privilidge to spend it in the presence of masters of their craft who live and breathe what they do in pursuit of nature, the environment and flipping delicious food. 10 star hospitality, 10 star food, and one million star people ! If you don’t come here and cook you are a madman ! So I dare you to come and enduldge in what has been our highlight of the trip.!

I can’t believe Rosegarden isn’t filled with visitors every single day. We feel like we stumbled upon a secret garden trove. In an enchanting nursery, we went on a tour of the plantation, the owner giving us leaves to smell while he pointed out the impressive variety of plants cultivated by his botanist father.

After, we joined Rose and Rajee for a cooking class that taught us so many skills, while having fun, telling stories, and preparing 5(!!) dishes in a couple of hours. The food was magnificent, our teachers were kind and so informative, and we never wanted to leave. We learned about Rosegarden from our Lonely Plant book guide after we’d already booked our hotel, and we regret not staying in their rooms! The owners were so helpful and responsive, helped us with transport (when a tuktuk wasn’t available, the owner offered to drive us himself!). We bought several spices grown on site, to take back memories of our wonderful morning with the family.

Highly recommend to anyone, we’ve already sent information to our friends in the area.

This was the best experience of my trip in India ! The farm is wonderful, the family is extremely welcoming and the cooking was so fun and delicious !! We bought spices grown in the garden and the owner even gave us a ride when we couldnt get a tuk tuk ! And they also sent us all the recipes we made (4 dishes and bread)

Thank you for everything !!

I had the 2 hour cooking class at Rosengarden which was a wonderful experience. We learned 4 different typical recipes and how to do chapati bread.
It was both ludical and technical and our hosts were great teachers. Then we had dinner and could eat the great food!
If you come to Munnar i highly recommend this great family for cooking classes, dinner and of course stay there overnight if you can!
