A serene and tranquil spot.Presently it is a tea estate club.Well maintained.Beautiful cottages are there. We searched for delicious food in Munnar but for us the best preparation was at this High range club.Golf course fo rmembers is threre.Quite a good place to stay..

I really enjoyed staying here. It was really peaceful, with well tended grounds, great food and really polite staff. We stayed in one of the rooms in the main house for two nights. It was equipped with a TV.

I agree with the comments below that it is a little faded. However, it is immaculately clean and an interesting place to stay because it is so different from a resort and has period features that are unusual in guest accommodation. There is lots of space to relax, read and drink tea - gardens, a lovely lounge and seating areas outside the rooms. We particularly enjoyed the option of being awoken in the morning with a cup of tea, before later coming down to breakfast.

The location is also convenient. It is a mile or so from munnar town, down a lane leading to the mountains where the tea plantations are.

We visited in dec 2014 with my family and my brothers family. It is a very old place and even now they have their rules in Dinning areas and in the club house.

Restaurant small but CLEAN.
Rooms - toilet and bed EXCELLENT.
Food - Very very good.

We have been to Munnar may be 4 or 5 times - but a stay at the club was very different from that of a stay in a hotel or resort.

After roaming arround in munnar you may feel tired and just want to be in your room. But at the CLUB you may not feel to sit in your room you have LOT OF SPACE TO walk around play around.

In total if you r to visit munnar, should try to get a room at THE HIGH RANGE CLUB.

Room tip: Dont forget to bring any kind of out door games - you have A LOT OF SPACE. HEY KIDS - YOU WILL ENJOY - THE CLUB

If you have ever been to an Indian version of a Brit club you will feel at home instantly at High Range. They have it all - dress regulations, a bar which is men only( amazing in this day and age)billiards room, skittles alley, wall mounted animals to recall shikar days etc etc.Just think time warp and you will instantly visualise the club. A couple of women in gowns and men with solar topees would complete the scene so just dive into the time warp and before too long you begin to enjoy it. The golf course in front of the club with an amazing array of flowers in full bloom adds to the charm of this piece of vintage club life. A short walk away lies the scenic beauty of tea gardens with the river lazily weaving its way.The room with wooden partitions is clean but bare.It does offer all a visitor may need but no frills. It all spells old world club life so don't look for modern day luxuries and it does grow on you in a while.

by old i mean that the there are alot of rules. like one is that men are not allowed to wear t shirts without collars in the restaurant and that only members can only play snooker but no one will care about that because once you reach there you will feel like you have gone back in time when the british ruled india cause there are soo many things when you go will describe what i m saying. Anyway the cottages are lovely and the food is perfect

Room tip: choose a cottage close to the reception or it will be alot to walk in the cold climate

This place could be a fabulous deco style hotel with original fittings lovingly restored featuring luxurious rooms beautifully decorated with comfortable beds. The restaurant and bar are buzzing with a mixture of foreign guests and local businesspeople and are splendidly laid out and serving superb food and snacks....but it isn't.
