A lovely place sitting in the lap of mother nature, surrounded by the mesmerizing view of hills and waterfalls. We really had a great time and truly enjoyed our weekend. The staffs are very helpful and will always be there at your service with a warm welcome smile. We will definitely be back!!!

As an ardent lover and enthusiast of nature, Mankulam ( The place where Wild Elephant Eco Friendly Resort is situated ) a treat for a lifetime. The picturesque views filled with colours, the constant sound of waterfall, the fresh air, the unique flora and fauna...Mankulam is a nature lover's niche.
Mr. Jaison, Owner of Wild Elephant Eco Friendly Resort, has been an amazing host. His knowledge and experience took us to so many unique spots that were untouched by humans. His adventures are wonderful to listen to and it is admiring how he takes care of the nature around here. His idea is to sell nature instead of rooms.
Another humbling experience was the interaction with the locals over there.
Each and every staff of the resort treated us like one among them. And leaving the resort felt a lot like leaving home. Their simplicity and knowledge of the forest is amazing. During our stay, they treated us as one of them, accompanying us everywhere and cooking for us.
Mankulam is indeed a must visit for every nature admirer. But aside from all of the above, I would like to add a little something. If any of you are visiting this little village, please make sure that you don't leave any waste such as plastic or any other non biodegradable substance. More than a tourist place, Mankulam is home to lot of flora and fauna where humans coexist with nature and its residents in peace. Places like this are becoming few and numbered, and it is our responsibility to save and protect whatever is left. Hats off to Mr. Jaison for doing exactly that!

If you are looking for a perfect weekend getaway at Munnar, then Mr.Bastin Jaison's Wild Elephant Eco Friendly Resort at Mankulam is the best option. Although pretty close to Munnar, Mankulam stays apart from the rest of the world , and has a magical feel to it. Home to numerous nurseries, farm houses , creeks, tea n coffee estates , and plantations , located at the heart of a jungle , surrounded by misty mountains wearing thick white clouds around their neck, always wearing a blanket of fog ,where the sun makes a mere guest appearance at dawn n leaves happily, thereafter, and where you can almost listen the nature ,the earth breathe , situated so close to the now super crowded hillstation Munnar, Mankulam is truly your one way ticket to find peace, experience the sound of silence and be lost forever in the nature's lap.

The road, which is not in great condition, from the Kochi - Madurai highway, with a sight of water gushing out with aggression through the sides or beneath little bridges, close to small but beautiful looking huts or landing heavily on rocky terrains and making its way in a hurry , across the forest, finally leads you to one of the 9 heavens Mr.Bastin Jaison has created in and around Mankulam. It is land of 16 perennial waterfalls and very close to Aanakulam , where wild elephants can be spotted very close to areas inhabited by humans.

An artist ,an advocate and most importantly a true nature enthusiast, Mr.Jaison, the owner of Wild Elephant Eco Friendly Resort, says "I do not sell rooms.. I sell nature".The resort is situated atop a hill with most of its decently maintained rooms, with a view of either a waterfall or misty mountains.Interestingly this is the only resort among the 9, that is built in concrete.Rest of them are in the jungle either as Mudhouses,Caves,Treehouses,Bamboo shacks etc.The activities they offer include Jeep n River Trekking, Jungle Safari, Cave visits, Community tourism with the Tribal groups and the list goes on from a miracle pond on the top of a mountain to trekking into deep jungles through Elephant trenches, all arranged, maintained and monitored by Jaison's wonderful team. U might not get 5 star facilities, for if u are looking for that, there is no point getting back to the nature. However everything is just perfect enough for a happy holiday. The staff at Jaison's resort are very friendly and offer you the best service you can possibly get at this part of the world. A proud recipient of many International acclaims for fostering eco tourism at this beautiful place, Mr.Jaison promotes" being one with nature again" , like olden days.

Needless to say half of Mankulam is Mr.Jaison's Swargarajyam.

For those who are badly in need of that great escape from the repetitive and degenerative, murmuring daily routine of life; to the most loving and caring lap of Mother- Nature, here is an asylum of peace and happiness. For those who are fond of monsoon trips, here is an ideal destination; especially for those who are spiritually inclined. Ideal for meditation camps.
