We took our 13 yr old to Anthony's Key, so we each could complete our open water dives for PADI certification.
Diving set up. Excellent.. Loved that our equipment was so close to the boats. Storage lockers right by the dock. Fresh water rinse tanks just steps away. So easy to leave your gear on the boat between dives. Divemaster/Captain replaced air tanks. It gives so much more time for diving. I hate lugging equipment around.

Loved divemaster Frank that helped complete our certifications. The first day there was an unexpected storm, 3 out of 7 divers become sea sick. Frank and crew were calm and handled the unexpected very professionally. I wasn't sure I would go back again. The next day was beautiful. The crew took us to the south side of the island for calmer water. I think just to get our confidence back :) It worked! Certification complete. We were assigned another boat for the rest of the week. Which allowed us to go on 10 more dives. Dive master(John) and Captain(Kenely) were excellent. Provided supervision and support beyond our expections. They took special care with our daughter which was greatly appreciated.

We had cabin #38 with airconditioning. Awesome location right on the water. Paradise. Clean room with firm mattresses. Loved the clothesline to dry out our clothes. We did get bug bites at the end of the week. We did not wear our repellant religiously. They didn't really itch till we got home.

Food was plentiful. 3 big meals per day. Most food appeared home made from simple recipes. Always picked the seafood. Bread served before each meal was delicious. Our 13 yr old did look for snacks between meals which were hard to find other than chips.

We paid extra for the "new" dolphin experience. It consistented of 45min of time in the water with 2 dolphins. We were instructed how to communicate with hand signals. The dolphins then gave us kisses, danced, pushed us by our feet and towed us along with there fins. Pricelsss experience.

Check in/out was simple. Pick up at the airport was efficent. Anthony staff there for baggage and instruction. Bus ride to resort and then orientation. Luggage delivered quickly to your room. Staff gives a final bill with all the charges from the week for you to review before signing. Tipping was easier by waiting for the end of the week. Simple bus ride back to airport with a staff member aboard to organize the groups.

Room Tip: We enjoyed the airconditioner at night. I don't think you need it but it helped dry out our clothes. It is very humid on Roatan

Great diving, amazing food, lovely accommodations, and dolphins, dolphins, dolphins! My husband and I are experienced divers, so we appreciated the high level of quality of the dive program. The Key is located at a marine preserve, so the sea life is less shy than other areas. The dolphin experience is unlike any other--the animals are free to come and go as they please, but they choose to stay and interact with their trainers and guests. We did the dolphin dive, the dolphin encounter, and the dolphin snorkle. You can't get too much dolphin time.

Most all-inclusive resorts serve a buffet, which is never as good as freshly made food. Anthony's Key serves like a restaurant, and the food is fantastic. Homemade salad dressings, all the bread, pastries and dessert are freshly baked, and the service is excellent.

Room Tip: some rooms do not have air conditioning. The temperature was moderately warm in Feb, and we were glad to have it.

We had a great dive at the resort which was booked from our cruise ship. I thought the diving was great in Cozumel but this was equally as great. The diving is right off shore and animal life was great! Visability was good, dive master was good, only disappointment was they did not provide snacks. That is okay, they have some you can purchase, but I wish I had known so I could be better prepared.

I would love to return to this resort and dive for a week. The little cabanas across from the dive boat area belong to Anthony's Key Resort and look charming. Make this a must do dive location!

A great experience almost ruined by faulty gear and inattentive, dive master and crew. Dive Master only partially turned on dive buddy's Air Tank which resulted in giving false readings as to pressure, going from 0 to 2000 psi during normal breathing. Nearly aborted the dive. When explaining that our dive computers were not coming "on". They suggested we go in anyway and it would be "OK". We refused and insisted on getting replacement regulators and gauges. As it turns out our computer batteries were dead and we would not have had any indication of depth or air pressure. Our lesson learned, you and your buddy are responisble for one another. Do not rely on the dive master or anyone else.
Selection of equipment was lacking. Sizes of BCDs and fins were an issue, After they searched for fins for 15 minutes, (had one could not find the other) we were rushed to get their equipment on regardless of proper fit.

We came for the super snorkeling. Everybody seems to prefer the Key rooms, but we stayed in a cheaper hillside cottage with air and loved it. It's closer to the dining room and is smack in the middle of a beautiful jungle setting. We even had 2 iguanas in the trees overhanging our cabana. Great panoramic view of the water below. Our unit was # 6, and the view is better of the surrounding area if you are in an air conditioned unit... no louvers, just big glass windows. Loved everything about Anthony Key except the mosquitoes.

Room Tip: Loved room 6 on hillside. If you go in winter (Dec., Jan, Feb) you might not need air conditioning. But views are better from air conditioned units because of the big glass windows.
