We have eaten here several times, always it has been a fantastic experience. The mushroom soup is the best I've ever had, and the veal shin is a hearty treat.
But. Today it seemed the service broke down a little bit compared to normal. The place was really busy, but they forgot to take drink orders, so it took 20 minutes of chasing to get the drinks, and when they came, the red wine was off. To make things worse, nobody came to ask how things were, and I ended up having to take the wine to the bar to complain. The wine was replaced, and although it was better, the wine itself was poor.
It is a wonderful place to eat, great food and loads of character, but try to avoid peak times, and don't drink the house red wine!
