Nice old-fashioned restaurant in Samobor, half an hour drive from Zagreb. It has a large parking lot.
Reservation required, because it can be crowded.
I recommend homemade mushroom soup, and roast veal. One of the best restaurant in Croatia!

We were there for lunch... mushrooms soup is so tasty, roast veal knuckle is the best! If you are going during a Sunday you have to call before and make a reservation... peaceful place for couples, family with kids, friends... was great

We have eaten here several times, always it has been a fantastic experience. The mushroom soup is the best I've ever had, and the veal shin is a hearty treat.

But. Today it seemed the service broke down a little bit compared to normal. The place was really busy, but they forgot to take drink orders, so it took 20 minutes of chasing to get the drinks, and when they came, the red wine was off. To make things worse, nobody came to ask how things were, and I ended up having to take the wine to the bar to complain. The wine was replaced, and although it was better, the wine itself was poor.

It is a wonderful place to eat, great food and loads of character, but try to avoid peak times, and don't drink the house red wine!

Went here for a family lunch. This is a relatively big restaurant with space on the main floor and on a floor up but the atmosphere is completely domestic. The food itself is also mostly domestical based and it is quite excellent. As a starter we had mushroom soup which was the best mushroom soup I ever tried. For main dish I had the wild boar with gnochi which was also excellent. The portions are quite large so keep that in mind as well.
They also have some quite good wines but the beer selection is smaller. They alao jave a huge choice of pancakes for desserts.
Service was quick, efficient and quite friendly.
