A good hotel in an excellent position 10 15 minutes walk into Porec. Lots to do and see Enjoyed boat trip to Rivjjina and Pula . Food was brilliant if you couldn't find anything to eat you must be very fussy ,Room very clean .Our room was below the dining room and I believe some people found noisy with dragging of chairs but as we are early risers did not bother us.Did't find room size a problem only negative no fridge,Was a safe in our room but was told they are not in all rooms
All staff were very pleasant, Will return

Came for Windays conference, never again. It’s around 29 degrees celsius outside and the air conditioning does not work. The receptionist informs me that I should open the door as AC wont work as it’s the system, only heating works. Last time here.

Dear UncleMati,

Thank you for choosing Valamar Rubin and taking the time to share your experience. We give our most to make our guests' stay with us a pleasant and memorable experience. It is from feedback like yours that points us in the right direction in our effort to constantly improve. We work hard to deliver an exceptional guest experience, and we are sorry that you feel that in this case that we fell short.
In this period of your stay the temperature went over 25 degrees celsius during the day but there were only around 12 degrees celsius in the night so we decided to leave the heating on during the night and so excluded the possibility to cool during the day.

If you give us a chance to earn back your trust, I can assure you that we will do our best to give you the great experience that so many of our guests have had.

With regards
Vladimir Trifunac

This hotel is one of three in the same complex. Our room was clean and comfortable although the a/c didn't work and we had to have the balcony door open at night which encouraged mosquitos so we had to spray ourselves before we went to bed.
Although it was the end of the season the hotel was very busy and at times the restaurant was chaotic. Meals were buffet style with plenty of choice and of good quality. There is a large pool area as well as a sunbathing area by the sea which had children's facilities too. Short walk to Porec town which was very pleasant through the pine trees. Can also walk in other direction along the coast, again very pleasant through the pine trees. Entertainment in the evening in at least one of the hotels, some nights good, others not so good. It's worth hiring a car to visit nearby towns and attractions- roads are very good.

This was our first visit to Croatia and it won't be our last, although we may re-think what month to visit in next time. The hotel is in a fantastic location, moments away from the seafront path which either takes you into Porec (about a 10/15 minute walk) or down the coast passing other hotels and bars on the way with some stunning scenery. The rooms were nicely furnished and spacious, my only issue was that our room was facing the car park and more or less over the main entrance, so every morning we were disturbed by noisy hotel guests going out on bus trips for the day, plus we couldn't leave the balcony door open as the room was filled with smoke from those outside the front door smoking.
Food in the hotel was really good and always something delicious at every meal - we were there for 9 nights and never felt that the food was samey or boring - it was fantastic, the salads in particular were amazing!
Drink prices are a bit steep, and as it was quite cold in the evening we ran up quite a large bar bill on the evenings we didn't want to brave the chilly breeze on the walk into town. Currency exchange in the hotel was definitely better than doing it in town if doing small amounts.
The swimming pool was unusable as it was soooo cold, although I did brave it briefly one afternoon. On a rainy afternoon we went next door and used their indoor pool which was great, but a cheaper price for hotel guests in the cooler months would be appreciated, especially as there was virtually no-one in there!
All in all we really enjoyed our stay, found staff to be polite and professional and an ideal location for our holiday.

Room Tip: sea view, or not near reception
