We can highly recommend Hotel Croatia that made our stay at Hvar so special.

It is a very charming hotel that will welcome you with its stunning views over the sea, palm trees, islands and sailing boats . Absolutely breathtaking!

Surrounded by mature gardens and smell of pine trees, it's is stone's throw away from the beach and 10 minutes walk via pleasant promenade to Hvar centre. It is a very tranquil and relaxing place that has also outside jacuzzi to enjoy and great location.

Breakfast was good and offers a variety of continental and traditional food, my kids loved it and ate so much. The Restaurant is on the sunny terrace overlooking the bay that makes the whole experience so special.

The staff is very friendly, our smiling waitress Ivana recommended a beach to us. We two teenage boys who needed some activity after a big breakfast, it was a prefect solution that involved taxi ride and 20 minutes stroll through pine trees and along beach to the Robinson Beach that has not been discovered by many tourists.

Our two boys also enjoyed nearby Hula Hula beach bar open until 10 30 pm.

Most importantly, we would not have made it this beautiful island if it hadn't been to the hotel director Stanislav who kindly arranged a change of our booking that I was not be able to do via booking.com. I originally booked the hotel for the same day as we landed to Split without checking ferry time table or taking into account one hour catamaran plus airport transfer. I was worried as most catamaran tickets were sold out on line, but was explained that it can be purchased localy on the day.

Everything is possible thanks to people willing to help you and give you their smile to make your stay at this most beautiful hotel and island so memorable.

We will happily go back to Hotel Croatia with some friends - Hvar is defiantly Croatian St. Tropez and hidden gem thats worth your visit.

Following a pleasant journey on the ferry from Dubrovnik, we spent two nights at the Hotel Croatia. This is a charming hotel, set within a minute's walk of a pebbly beach on the outskirts of Hvar town. It is old-fashioned, and probably needs some money spent to update the decor of the rooms and the common areas. That said, thoroughly enjoyed the grounds and proximity to the town. A special mention should be made for the excellent quality of the breakfast provided (just beware of wasps if you eat it on the terrace).
One point to note – Hvar appears to be looking to become the Ibiza of Croatia (as an example, the nearby HulaHula beach entertains the crowd of at least 4 AM every morning). This did not overly concern us, however it may impact on the attractiveness of Hvar in the future.

BTW - disregard any reviews comparing this hotel to a hostel...it's nothing of the sort.

Great hotel in a fab location. Walkable along the coastline into town and just down some steps to the sea. The room was fine, had a bedroom and sofa bed in the lounge for our children. Bathroom dated but all clean. Air con worked fine which was a relief in the heat. The restaurant was lovely and the waitresses were so friendly and provided such good service. We were half board and the evening meals were very good. The hotel is right next door to the Hula Hula club which is loud in the evenings but it's far enough away to not be a problem.

Room tip: Sea view rooms have amazing views.

Great hotel, with light colours, beautiful garden and great location. Beach just outside the hotel, called Hula-Hula-beach. Hula-Hula-beach is fun for teens and young adults, with party until 11 pm. Short walk to Hvar city.

My husband and I did not enjoy our stay here. Our room was extremely small with a really dated and rather creepy bathroom that barely allowed enough space to take a shower. The worst part was the bed was so hard that we couldn't sleep on it. Then we had breakfast before leaving and it was terrible. The dining room was filthy - covered with dirty dishes on dirty tables - and the breakfast was paltry and not good. On the positive side, we liked the little patio off our room, parking was easy and the beach is just a few minutes down a path. Yet all in all, this place is way over priced and made me feel like I was in college.
