Just returned from a fabulous two weeks here and need to add my four penn'orth.

The excellent reviews on here are very accurate. We would like to add our thanks and admiration in particular to Mihaela, Stanka and Louro, the three people who we had most contact with and who are a credit to the hotel. Their customer service is second to none. The whole staff are the epitome of kindness, hospitality and relaxed/unobtrusive efficiency. Stanka in particular was extremely helpful with her advice and information: if you have any questions or issues needing resolving at all, ask Stanka!

The food in the restaurant is lovely: we were on half board so had a reduced menu to the menu available generally and we never once had a bad meal, nor felt it was repetitive (the menu otherwise is extensive). It's a testament to the restaurant's reputation that it is full every night and we saw repeat diners who were not staying at the hotel: need l say more?

The hotel oozes charm. No, it's not streamlined, new and shiny but it has character and history, and to us that is worth more than the corporate hotels we've stayed in before. Importantly it's clean, and we slept well every night. Just a comment on the aircon/noise criticisms: we were in Room 3 overlooking the restaurant and the aircon worked perfectly so the door was closed and we genuinely were not disturbed by street or aeroplane noise (the planes stop later in the evening anyway). The church bells do chime at 6ish (though to be honest l thought it was quite charming). I won't say you can't hear these things, but most days l slept through them (light sleepers might not).

The hotel is in a good position too as others have said, for all the bars, boat trips, other restaurants and yacht-watching. There's a good circular walk, looping you round from the end of the quay to the bus station not far from the hotel (visit the mausoleum on the hill, and also see Tino Pattiera's grave). Car hire, if that's what you fancy, gives you extra options for visits and seeing places you would not otherwise see (we made our own way to Sokol Grad which was amazing). I'm not going to mention the Dubrovnik boat trip because others already have and l have nothing extra to add, besides it goes without saying it's a must-do.

I haven't seen any mention on here of Kupari - what a fascinating place. Google "derelict hotels near Dubrovnik", then make sure you visit before it's too late (l read that the hotels might be demolished completely and/or that Marriott Hotels have bought the site)!

We don't often go back to the same area, preferring to try somewhere new every holiday, but we would seriously consider returning to Cavtat and if we ever do, we will certainly book the Villa Pattiera.

Perfect location in central Cavtat with good restaurant attached. We were treated like old friends on our first stay here and hope to return. All bedrooms are individual and many have balconies with a restricted view of the bay - or full terraces. The back rooms are quieter and overlook a courtyard patio area. Highly recommended for couples looking for a good location and very good friendly staff service. They couldn't do enough to ensure our comfort and enjoyment of the area. First class.

Room Tip: Rear facing rooms are quieter - although the only noise is early in the morning when dust-carts etc are operating.

Just returned from a week's holiday. It is a lovely, small, family run hotel a few yards from the beautiful quayside at Cavtat.
Outstanding customer service , nothing is too much trouble. Particular thanks to the waitress at breakfast , our waiter at dinner, the hotel manager and the lady on reception. It is their customer service that makes this place stand out.
We stayed in Room 6 which was a deluxe room. It had a fantastic view with a shared balcony. We were on a half board and the food was excellent.

Room Tip: Room 6 at the front had a fantastic view of the quayside.

Hotel was in the best possible location - Cavtat is stunning. We were on half board and the food was excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was perfectly adequate - no balcony though and the mini bar was an empty fridge. Take a kettle and tea/coffee with you. Would definitely return.

Our family recently had to cancel a week-long stay at this hotel due to unforeseen circumstances. It was a non-refundable reservation in peak season, and I was almost 100% sure there would be no possibility of postponing our visit, based on my experience with other hotels in similar circumstances. Great was my surprise when Stanka, the friendly lady handling the reservations at the hotel, consulted with the manager and agreed that we could postpone our visit until later in the year. As a frequent traveller, this is probably the first time I have experienced this kind of flexibility from a high-end hotel. The customer service was outstanding - friendly and professional - and based on this experience, I certainly recommend this hotel. We look forward to visiting Villa Pattiera and Cavtat.
