The hotel is very nice and pintoresque, with beautiful natural views and spacious and clean rooms.

The food was ok but not the best from our trip.

The thing is Yangshuo is kind of small, so beside from downtown which is a lot of stores, the natural views and this amazing show in one of the city theaters, there's not a lot to do, so if you're hungry in the middle of the night or fancy a walk, that might be an issue.

Booked 2 rooms for 2 nights during the golden week and paid over 900 RMB which was probably 4 times what it is worth. This hotel is really bad. We booked a mountain view luxury non smoking room. The mountain view was actually a view on a junk yard close to the mountain. See picture. Although booked non smoking rooms one of the rooms had 2 full ashtrays in it and the smell was unbeatable. Complained but the managed said they could change the room, only clean it. The room and beds are just ok. The breakfast was of very poor quality. Check in and out was chaotic and slow. Location is not good. Better to avoid this place.

Situated right in the town area, west street is just nearby. For China standard the hotel is OK.
International plugs are available in the rooms.
We had our dinner at the hotel. For the 2 of us they gave us a good dinner with one chicken dish, one fish, 2 vegetables and a soup. Very generous.

Beware there are two of these hotels, the one closest to New West Street appears dirty, the one in the back streets is dirty. It smells had mouldy bathroom that could have been cleaned but no attempt was made even after our guide complained. The carpet is stained, the "fresh table clothes were stained and had holes. There is only toast and eggs for the westerners even though it advertises that it has a western café. The advertised pool and tennis courts have not been used in years. No fleas and has good internet,(thank God)

Room Tip: Don't bother

There was nothing special about this hotel. It's quite old looking and dark. There is only only lift servicing the entire hotel, and the staff were also using this lift to take the luggage to the rooms so once the bellboy occupied the lift to send the luggages, the guests have to just wait for the lift to be empty again.

The rooms are not bad though, in terms of space, as it is quite spacious. Although the beds/mattress were quite hard. Don't bother switching on the tv cos everything is in chinese. No coffee provided, only chinese tea. Check the kettle carefully because when we wanted to use it, there was still tea in it.

Location wise, it is not that near the famous West Street. U still have to walk a good 10 to 15 minutes. So don't be fooled by the name of this hotel, it is not exactly near West Street. Although to the Muslims, this hotel is close to one of the halal restaurant that sells homemade noodles. The price of food is reasonable in this restaurant.

If you don't mind paying more, I suggest you look for a better hotel close to West Street.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms facing the street so you can have a view of the hills.
