It is hard to believe that Solar das Aguas Cantantes still holds a star from the most prestigious brazilian travel publication, "Guia 4 Rodas".
The fish and seafood preparations are tasteful and well seasoned, but nothing exceptional. The menu is very limited and pricey, with very few options of side dishes and virtually no desserts besides fruit compotes and plain ice creams.
Their wine list is not only poor, but inadequate and way overpriced. With very few exceptions, it offers mostly brazilian table wines that used to be popular in Brazil in the 80s and early 90s.
Guia 4 Rodas should review their criteria, and Solar das Aguas Cantantes should hire a proper chef and a sommelier if they still want to be known as a top restaurant in Sao Paulo's coast.
