Acceptable hotel with good location between Ave Paulista and the upscale Jardim Paulista district. Staff is helpful but very few speak english or spanish, so communication can be a challenge. Rooms are clean and comfortable, recently remodeled with goal of urban chic but done on the cheap, so result is a little tacky. Not cheap, but a good price relative to other options in the zone.

I booked for 14 days. I left after 3 days.
It's a shabby building that has been turned into a hotel. Probably 2 stars.
Rooms are less than basic. Bed is uncomfortable. One window was missing. Staff don't speak English. Expensive. No value for money. They market it as a hotel. It isn't. Kids do drag racing in their cars on the street until 01:00.
Didn't get much sleep.
I left as soon as I could.

Good points: great location, staff helpful and nice, good room, clean.

Negative points: While half of my stay there are constructions on another floor of the hotel with the sound of hammers all day long. The wireless Internet are unstable (disconnects a lot) and low speed. You must prepay your stay upon check-in. If you extend your stay beyond what has already been paid, your card access to lifts and room is disabled until you make another payment, although his belongings are still in the room, stay alert, because no one will advise you that. It's a strange and awkward behavior on the part of a hotel of this size.

Is a good value for money, with great location near restaurants, comercial center and Paulista avenue.

The bed is small for a big couple, and TV only at the living room. Is a big apartament with closet, living room, microwave etc.

Clean, and quiet to sleep.
But some people lives there, used to be a flat, a there are still pre owned apartments.

After traveling around Brazil with my husband for 3 months, I can say that this accommodation is the BEST value for money we ever got in Brazil. We payed the same price as we payed for the regular double room in many other B&Bs, and in Matiz Manhattan we got a whole one-bedroom apartment only for ourselves. It had small kitchen with dining room area, TV lounge, bedroom with queen size bed and very nice bathroom. It was very modern and tastefully furnished and exceptionally clean. Price doesn't include breakfast though, but there are so many cute restaurants/bakeries where you can grab something to eat. As about noise, there are some construction sites around the building, but they are only starting around 9 or 10 am and already were finished by the time we were back in the apartment, so it didn't really bothered us at all. Location is as I said amazing, right in the middle of area equivalent to New York's SOHO, with many boutiques/designers stores and cute restaurants with open air seating (perfect for people watching).
Matiz Manhattan is just unbeatable deal: clean, comfortable and big place in the middle of safe, fantastic area of town all that with very affordable prices. You wont regret if you stay there.
