Stayed for 6 nights in January 2013. Very well located 1 block from Copacabana Beach and 3-4 blocks from the Metro which will take to you Ipanema or the City. Hotel is a bit old, but very good service at reception to book day trips and general assistance. Breakfast is also very good.

This Hotel is good and very convinient if you want to be by Copacabana area. It's one block away from the beach and blocks from easy access to the busses and metro station. I felt very comfortable walking around the area. Hotel staff at reception desk were very nice and helpful.
Breakfast was good, but the servers were a little rude. The Pool was out of service so we had to walk over to the other Windsor Hotel by the beach to use its pool. Over all this Hotel is very good.

We were looking for someone nice, still affordable to stay in Copacabana, and this place ticked all the boxes.
Only 2 min from the beach, and the room is perfectly fine (nothing fancy, but clean and comfortable - although the air con could be a bit newer, but still fine). The swimming pool on the top is definitely a plus! But what really impressed was the service: the staff on the reception is excellent, helps you with directions and tips on buses and so on. And they have FREE shuttle to the airports. The mini-bus was a bit late, but in fairness it was not the driver's fault, with the traffic as mental as that. So if you have to book a shuttle with them (or with anyone) allow plenty of time and room for delays due to the traffic.
The free breakfast is also very nice, but if I may be a bit cheeky, could have offered nicer coffee.

It is a good hotel, the service is good, the room is clean and comfortable. There is little noise from the streets and the air conditioning system. The location is very good, with a lot of bars and restaurants nearby and, of course, the beach.

LOCATION:
Good if you're keen on Copacabana; one block from the beach and five blocks from Siquera Campos metro station (which takes you directly to downtown or Ipanema).
I was a little disappointed by Copacabana town - like the hotel it has seen better days although felt perfectly safe.
However just cross the road to the beach and you can see high class Brazilian beach soccer seemingly all day and night. The game I watched was very good indeed.

ROOMS:
Ageing but comfortable enough. My double room had a small balcony although french doors wouldn't look so never felt entirely secure.
Security safe, (loud) old fashioned air conditioning unit.
Excellent shower.

SERVICE:
Great old-school service: polite and charming and English spoken at reception and in restaurant.
They can easily arrange a package tour to watch one of the Brazilian Serie A clubs play, including transport, tickets and guides on hand. I saw Flamengo v Botafogo and this was well worth 130 reales.

FACILITIES:
Rooftop terrace bar has stunning views over the beach and of Sugar Loaf and Corcovado.
Fitness room and plunge swimming pool next to rooftop bar with stunning views.
Free wifi throughout.
Laundry service is very expensive.
18 floors and 2 elevators so often a long wait.

FOOD:
Average breakfast buffet in ground floor restaurant - so no views other than of the rather grubby street.
