In town for a bowling tournament, located this fabulous place online. Seven of us went to dinner on Friday night ,without a reservation, and accommodated us ! We liked it so much we came back Sat night (making the reservations on Fri while we were there) for 14 guests. John who helped us seating and reservations , the awesome wait staff Jennifer & Jessica, They know the menu, as extensive as it is, there is something for everyone to have and enjoy. I highly recommend!

I've been coming to the Red Ox for years.. Even from the time that it was located out on Hwy 41, Next to "Golf Village". It was known as Arthur's Red Ox, in those days. I have always found the food to be consistent and delicious. I typically/usually go for the NY Strip, but have also enjoyed the prime rib, the Broiled Shrimp, and the Broiled Scallops. You'll find this to be an old-school supper club/steak house. Service it typically very good and friendly. The bartenders know their business, and your entire time there won't break the bank.

We have driven past the Red Ox on numerous occasions and often had breakfast across the street at Schreiner's Diner, so this past Saturday, we made reservations to give the Red Ox a try. We arrived early for our 6 PM reservation and it was packed. We checked in and only waited a few minutes before being seated. While we waited, we heard other guests who called or came without a reservation, that it was an hour and a half wait... Best to call ahead!!
The menu is truly amazing, and probably has the most offerings we've seen in the FV area.. 14 different ways you can have Haddock for example. My husband had been looking for a Veal dish and he found it there: Wisconsin Bleu Cheese Veal and Wild Mushrooms served over pasta. He added shrimp to the mix and was delighted I like to try different Ribs, so I took the full slab which was cooked perfectly and served with delicious sauce. Besides the usual potato variety sides, that night Asparagus was offered. Instead of being served in spears, the Asparagus was angle cut into bite-sized pieces. The food was served hot and it was obvious that the plates had not sat before being brought out. Despite being packed with diners, our server checked on us for water and drink refills in a timely manner. We picked two desserts to take home, the Black Cherry Cheesecake, which was wonderful, chunks of black cherry in a wonderful cheese cake. The chocolate dessert has not been yet enjoyed, but I'm sure it will be just as good as the cheesecake. When we left we complimented the host on the menu and he said that he couldn't do it without the great kitchen group that he has. We would definitely agree!!

Travel back to the 60's Era or supper clubs. Some of the food very good (steaks) some ok (seafood ) some taste like microwave grocery store foods (pasta). They have a nice lunch (loaded baked potatoes ) but nothing great. Apparently Jerry Jones eats here (true) even time dallas cowboy's play the packers.
