This is a cozy, charming place, but more importantly, the people that work there go above and beyond what is necessary. The entire staff is helpful and courteous. They helped make our stay a great experience. Ana y Newton, muito obrigado por tudo.

This is a pleasant pousada, if a little rough around the edges, which is very close to the historic Pelorinho district of Salvador. There are 2 terraces (which were a must have for our accomodation) overlooking the bay and offering good sunset views. There is a nice breakfast served on one of these terraces - simple but sufficient. The rooms seem good, though we had the best (room 4) and second best (room 9) - some of the other rooms looked much smaller and do not have sea or street views. Wifi only works near the reception, though this was not a major issue for us. The staff are helpful though we were encouraged to go on tours - we weren't overly pleased with the one we took to Praia do Forte, so arranged other day trips ourselves. Overall the stay was a pleasant one and at a very reasonable price.

Room Tip: Room 4 or 9

We stayed four nights. The Pousada is very well located just off the center of "Pelourinho" that is Salvador's historic town. Gianluca, Ana Luz, and the night man, Giovanni (both men being Italian but speaking a variety of languages incl. Spanish, French, English) will do anything to ease your stay. The rooms are neat, breakfast is great!!. Beware of Pelourinho, don't go around with any valuable item (including your camera) visible. You can even park your car by the entrance door.

Room Tip: Ask for room #7 with a great view on the harbour!

We liked this place. The breakfast was very nice, typical brazilian (I think) and the staff was very friendly. They kept my luggage for three weeks when I was travelling around without charge. The room we got was a bit boring without windows, but clean. The view from the breakfast terrace was so nice. the locaion is good in the old part of the town.

Room Tip: maybe ask for room with window?

Last October we spent four days in Salvador at this Pousada. We really recomend it to everybody. The room was very comfortable with fantastic view on the bay, the breakfast delicious and the staff very friendly and helpful especially the owner Luca who gave us a lot of advice about city. Position is good, only 5 minutes from Pelourinho.
