Once in a while, you come across a hotel which deserves 5 stars (or points respectively). We stayed here for 3 nights and were amazed at the level of service and the high quality of the bar and restaurant (see the dedicated review of the Fitz Carraldo).
The staff, throughout speaks perfect English, is friendly and is always willing to share some insights into the Brazilian culture, language or sights in Manaus.
The rooms were very clean, the TVs are equipped with good reception and a lot of private HD cable channels. Internet was sufficiently fast and the pool is a sight of its own.
The Hotel kept the traditional facade intact, merely restored it. Behind it, you will find renovated rooms in a sort colonial and modern style. The pool is surrounded by jungle-like green and invites you to relax with an amazing caipirinha from the bar.
They offer, and I am not exaggerating, one of the best caipirinhas I have had so far in Brazil. Try the maracuja one.
The breakfast buffet is quite comprehensive and offers something for everyone. In addition to that, the guest can select from a free a la carte menu (tapioca, pancakes, eggs etc.)
For us, it was a jewel in Manaus and we can only highly recommend staying at this hotel if you want to enjoy some luxury and comfort.
