It is about 5 minutes walk from the exit from Shinkansen side of the Kokura Station (You will see this hotel from the station).

The hotel is very clean and looks still new. The room is dinky, but there are enough equipment that you need such as free Wifi, slippers, hair dryer..... And, breakfast buffet is included.

I like this hotel chain, and would recommend anyone who is looking for a reasonable but comfortable hotel.

Clean rooms, a selection of pillows of your choice. They do go out of their way to make your stay bearable. A bit disappointed with the shower head, because these were not able to take advantage of the decent hot water pressure (if it was, the shower would have been over average). The breakfast is better than other comfort hotels. Close to the station. Highly recommended for the budget business traveler.

Room Tip: The first bullet train going outbound is audible, so a room facing the other side is suggested.

I have stayed at many business class hotels near train stations in Japan. Although this Comfort Hotel is not the newest, it offers good value and service while being within about a 5 minute walk from the main train station in Kokura, Kyushu. My room had a double bed with two pillows and a nice sized desk with plenty of outlets for charging iPhones etc. It also had wired internet that was decently fast. The window opened for some fresh air and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast bar was standard for a Japanese Comfort Hotel which is to say not fantastic but acceptable. The fruit and vegetables were fresh, and the coffee, brewed fresh for every cup, was very good. The pastries here, and the other Comfort Hotels I have samples, were not fresh and I recommend passing on them.

Overall, if this hotel is in your price range, then I recommend it.

The Comfort Hotel in Kitakyushu is nicely situated just 300m from the entrance to the JR station in the Kokura section of Kitakyushu, and only a ten minute walk from the Sunshine Ferry, which goes to Shikoku Island (Matsuyama). The restaurant scene is just on the other side of JR station and is very lively, you can find anything you want.
Our twin room was not large, but not terribly cramped either. The twin rooms are considerably larger than the single and double rooms, so if size is a factor do bear this in mind. The bathroom was the usual compact arrangement, with a washlet toilet and one tap plus a diversion valve serving both sink and shower / tub. Everything worked well.
The staff were friendly and helpful. Check- out is 10am, so you cannot sleep in too late. Breakfast is a very simple affair but they did have fresh bananas which are not often found in the cheaper properties.
At 12,000 yen for the two of us I thought it was pretty expensive for what we got. But for sure it was comfortable and convenient.

Room Tip: The twin rooms are much larger than the singles / doubles.

We stayed here for one night and booked directly with the hotel at a very cheap price. The best thing about the 'Comfort Hotel' group is that they provide free internet access and complimentary breakfast. Their breakfast includes selection of breads, rice balls, miso soup, salads, cereal, and more. There is coffee and tea dispenser available all day long as well. Is a really good bargain. Furthermore, their rooms are those compact japanese size room, so expect it to be small..for small size ppl.
The hotel is located 5 mins from the north exit of Kokura rail station. The north side is the 'quiet' side. The department stores and access to main city centre is from the south exit.
