3 P M and hungry, pulled into curb right in front and walked in.
First impression was that this is a "Mom&Pop" catering to the geezer group; but
seating ourselves we watched folks come in that appeared to be well known to the staff; locals and mostly elders. That being said:
The menus are all about breakfasts and lunches. The restaurant closes at 4:00 P M.
Soup of the day was roasted Pepper and Tomato. I ordered a traditional comfort meal: Cup of soup of the day and a grilled cheese on sourdough sandwich.
The soup had the thick consistency of being freshly constituted, topped by a grated
white cheese, tasted delicious. The Grilled cheese appeared golden brown and leaking cheese around the edges: Fantastic.
The other order was half a ham & Cheese on wheat and a cup of fresh fruit.
The sandwich was stout with American cheese and ham, lettuce and mayonaise.
A fairly substantial slice of fresh medium tomato topped it off.
The fruit cup contained fresh fruit. Both items were very good.
The service was friendly and a smiling waitress checked on our drinks and if all was as we would have liked.
The restaurant has clean restrooms. There are two rooms for dining; one with the traditional cafe bar with stools, and booths while the other room was what looked
like a more recently upgraded decor with larger booths.
If other commenter's evaluations are consistent with ours, then this is a very well recommended feel-good traditional restaurant with reliably consistent quality of
food presentation. We recommend this restaurant as better than just average.
