We loved this little restaurant the moment we walked in. I chose this restaurant because there are not many truly good Italian restaurants in the area, and they had a dish on their online menu - Petto di Pollo alla Fiorentina - Chicken breast stuffed with spinach, prosciutto coto, smoked mozzarella, mushrooms & roasted peppers - and I went from not wanting to go to dinner, to wanting this dish. My husband loves seafood, and the mussels appetizer and swordfish sounded great to him. After some confusion about seating - they initially sat us in the front part of the restaurant, more a grab a pizza lunch seat than "fine dining" and we asked to be moved. They accommodated the request to a cute table in the corner with soft lighting and some ambiance. We ordered wine and the mussels appetizer. Our waiter brought us wine, and some warm bread, and took our order. About ten minutes later the mussels arrived. They were not very good - the broth tasted like a watered down tomato soup with just the slightest tomato flavor. No garlic, no spice. The mussels were not exceptional either. We were finishing our mussel dish when the waiter popped over quickly and apologized - they were out of the chicken fiorentina. !!! He did not seem to notice my disappointment - and he brought me a menu - and it took me a long time to make a decision since it was really the only dish that had brought me out that night. I ordered a chicken dish - mozzarella - and it was okay. My husband's swordfish was overcooked, and he said it didn't taste like much of anything despite the celery, onions, pine nuts, carrots, raisins & white wine it was sauteed with. The waiter provided excellent service (except for taking 30 minutes to tell me the dish I ordered was not available with no real apology!), and we liked the restaurant - just the food lacked flavor.
