Visited this restaurant over the weekend and ate their signature Gujarati Thaali. All the items in the thaali were very good: Daal, Undhiu, Shrikhand, Puri, Beans, achar, rice and Chhas (salted lassi). Before the thaali an appetizer plate containing dahi vada, bhel and one more item whose name escapes me were provided. Considering this was vegetarian meal the price was on the higher side ($16.95). For much lower price you can a bigger buffet spread at other vegetarian restaurants in Fairfax. Their a la carte menu has many interesting items which we did not try (Tindora, Dabheli, Methi Malai Matar, Khandvi, Mango Palak Chaat etc). The decor is bare bones. From outside it does not look like a restaurant. It is in an industrial section. The meal is definitely satisfying but expensive.

we went around 12:30 today with reservation made and got an email from the restaurant. when we showed up at 12:30 they told us your name is under 1pm. they saw us as if we were aliens. we showed emails but they were still not willing to seat us. the place is very small and cramped. lunch buffet had 2 or 3 starters, 4 currys and couple of desserts. taste was decent nothing special. naan was served fresh in the table. we ordered chaaz/buttermilk for drink. it was good. but the buffet is not worth the value you pay for. I know other restaurants in northern Virginia you got a lot of items for a lot less price. 14$ for a lunch buffet is overkill and not worth the taste or quantity.

Since we are moving to a new place, this was my farewell party by a friend. It was again a vegetarian restaurant with an assortment of food from Western and Southern India amongst others. The decor of the restaurant was nice - four huge pictures from Mumbai. The spread was nice and included dhokla, dahi vada, noodles, tawa paneer, pav bhaji, sambar vada, veg biryani, gujarati kadhi, paneer butter masala, kadhai bhindi, undhiyu, dal makhani, palak corn paneer, naan, bundi raita, gulab jamun and fruit custard. I had my full very early for some reason. Tasted undhiyu and gujarati kadhi for the first time. The kadhi was sweet but i liked it. The dahi vada was pretty grainy but tasted good. The best had to be the sambar vada. We finished it with a glass of aam panna. Loved this place and can visit again.

I went to this restaurant on a weekend and tried the Gujarati thali. But it was not at all a good experience. too much rush, not much delicious items in the thali.

its not a value for money thing. So dont go for this thali if you are expecting the tradition indian thali menu there. you will be disappointed. I have no clue of the ala carte menu.

Appetizers - good quantity of the dish; the dish is well prepared on weekdays when there are fewer customers; do not expect much, even for the same dish, on weekends
North Indian / Punjabi - Don't even try :(
Thali - Decent taste but not worth $17...may be 10-12 is good, all the more since all items in it are limited.(unlike unlimited buffets which are generally less expensive)
Drinks - decent taste but glass size is very small for the price (and the added ice makes it worse, not to mention makes shakes more watery)
Overall, certain items are good but it is more of an upscale restaurant; at least 35-40% expensive than standard Indian restaurants (e.g dosa - $11, lassi - $5 etc)
Be prepared to spend large!
