I stayed for a weekend in March with a friend (using a Groupon) and it was absolutely beautiful. The rooms aren't huge, but there's plenty of common space on the first floor, including a reading room with a fire, a game room, and a bar. We could always find a place to settle with our books, and made extensive use of the tea and cookies available in the parlor. Our beds were comfortable and extra quilts in the closet were a lovely thought. Our room had its own thermostat and beautiful views. The only downside was that we were able to hear sounds from the hall and occasionally from adjoining rooms, but it never woke us up.

The food was also quite good. We had dinner at the inn both nights that we stayed and were pleased that the menu changed between the two nights, so we had plenty of variety. The vegetables were perfectly cooked and the flavors were always excellent, thoughtful complements to each other. We had wine both nights and appreciated the option to purchase half-bottles. We also had two breakfasts at the inn, both of which were lovely: perfect pancakes, tasty omelet specials, and excellent in-house granola.

The staff were uniformly fantastic: helpful, welcoming, and informative. I can't wait to go back!

We stayed at the WMI mid-October 2011 for two nights in the Robert Frost room. The room was clean and neat. The make-up towel was a nice detail in the bathroom. The bed was a bit creaky and the lock had to be jiggled to get the key in the door. Aside from that, the room and furniture were comfortable.

The common area had board games, books and a snack area to make tea or coffee and a cookie jar you could help yourself to - lovely for a late night snack.

The property is surrounded by multiple types of trails and also has a llama farm. The Inn has a history to it. They have a tree garden and each tree memorializes someone special to the Inn. It was touching.

Breakfast is a meal that seems simple enough, but can easily go south. They have it right on the money. Menu is simple, but everything came out great. What we can speak to are the pancakes, eggs, bacon and coffee - fantastic.

Dinner was forgetful, though a good value. I believe it was a $40 prix fixe for 3 courses. Lamb shank and venison were our dishes. Good portions but nothing special about them. Also the wine and beer menu is lacking (cook's champagne/lack of local brews).

Service was admirable - from the receptionist, to the cleaning and wait staff.
All were superb.

Despite a few drawbacks here and there, we gave the West Mountain Inn a five star rating because of our wonderful overall experience.

About a month ago I stumbled upon a Groupon deal for the West Mountain Inn. My boyfriend goes to school in Georgia and I work in NYC so I thought it would be great to cozy up for a weekend in a cute B&B tucked away in the 'green mountains' of Vermont. The Inn exceeded my expectations. Truthfully, I fell in love with the Inn after reading the history of the property and about the owners on their website. So much love went into establishing the West Mountain Inn and it really shows how much love continues to be put into it.

I happen to work in a four star boutique hotel (it would be five star if we had a pool) and the Inn's expertise in hospitality really impressed me. My favorite aspect of the Inn is the journal that is placed in each of the rooms that kindly invite you to write your reflections and thoughts during your stay. I spent a few hours reading the completed journals from the hallway book shelf and most agree how pleasant the Inn is. (I do agree with previous posts that the dinner may be a tiny bit over-priced.)

Room Tip: Daniel Webster Suite was lovely and comfortably sized for a couple

Where do I begin in describing the serene, relaxing, hometown-feel that this B&B brings. We had an amazing time exploring this quaint town and beautiful natural landscape. The inn staff were friendly and helpful in making us feel at home immediately. The rooms and main house were very clean and welcoming offering tea, coffee, and snacks all day long. Our only complaint was the food offered in the inn's restaurant, it was just okay as meals go, but the great local restaurants made up for this. If you are looking for a quiet, simple getaway (to recharge your battery)... this is your place!

Hi we are a young couple in our mid twenties and we purchased a deal on Groupon for a two night stay at this Inn. When we arrived, we were greeted by a very nice woman who turned out to be the owner, Amie. She showed around the main house which was very warm and welcoming. There was a dining area, living room with fireplace, game room and bar with a small tv area with cozy couches. We ended up staying at the cottage in the pines which is down the road from the main house. Our room was spacious and very clean. The bed was very comfortable however the only downfall was that there was no TV which is something we enjoy to do before bed. Overall the staff was very nice and welcoming and the rooms were nice. If you're looking for a nice private quiet relaxing getaway, we definitely recommend this inn.
